I WISH I had that problem I just get a bunch of doom one tricks and the occasional ball or monkey one trick that keep losing me games. Almost always win when my team actually makes counter picks, sadly there’s sooooo many doom one tricks out lately. Idgi. But this game is so unplayable.
Also please never again release a “tank” that cant actually tank. Had to spend the game hiding behind corners, Brig, and Echo copying sigma all game while ball did f-all in the back line. Dives in for half a second and either dies or goes off grabbing health packs for a solid minute and a half while the rest of the team has no tank. So annoying.
Also, you should be encouraging tank players to use skill expression to win games. Pressing H might be the easy way, but taking the easy way doesn’t improve you as a player.
Sounds like you should have played a comp to suit the tanks play style.
Tank is the only role where people aren’t allowed to just play what they want, because be like you cry all night about it. When the chances are, the hero you played was complete garbage for the situation too.
If you can play who you like without being moaned at, tank players can too. Shut up and play.
lol and i’m the one crying. I was swapping supports trying to help our ball be at least somewhat useful all game. It wasnt enough, I cant play the game for him. And I cant make our dps swap to dive heroes or dive with our ball (who wasnt making any calls at all). Ball threw. End of story.
Chances are you did. If you’re swapping to keep Ball up, you’ve forgotten your team.
WB players will play around health packs, and will come to you if healing is needed. If you swap and chase the Ball about you’re throwing.
The only support that should be coming to the aid of a Ball is Kiriko, because she can suzu, dmg and get out. Even then, it’s better to let the Ball die, keep the rest of the team up and take advantage of the space Ball created.
Right, you pick a bad hero that gets countered and you don’t make enough space and that is evidence of me playing bad. Sure, and when dps play junk sym into pharmercy thats supports problem.
Agree with your take on this. Blaming bad teammates is a common crutch for not improving.
I think a lot of it comes from players not understanding their role, as you’ve alluded to. In a ball comp, its not the supports jobs to keep the ball up when theyre diving, unless youre Kiriko as you rightly said.
Ball is doing their thing, you just need to do yours. Same logic applies to all divey tanks. A supports job is to enable the team to take the space the tank is creating.
Until that concept is understood, it doesn’t really matter who your dive tank is. Youre gonna have a hard time having impact on the game until you understand what that impact should be.
It might cost them a match. But only they can cost the a season or the chance to climb.
I know the overwatch players only think one match at a time (hence the need for the instant gratification of rank progress you’ll get in season 9, despite it being no different to now). But you need to think bigger than that. Be a better player over a season, or few hundred games. Ultimately, your rank will be what it will be.
Remember, that Ball might lose you 1 match. But you’ll cost yourself countless more. Maybe focus on the bigger problem.
lmfao what was I supposed to do then? I didnt forget my team, I didnt chase ball, I played mostly heroes like brig and lifeweaver, with no aim long range heals so I can easily throw a pack to him while he’s wasting time diving no one for half a second and immediately getting killed, while the rest of the team actually tries to get stuff done. I guess healing him and trying to help him at all was throwing. Might as well have been emoting in spawn for all the good that did.
But he definitely threw as well.
Right lol, ball is doing literally nothing and would have been more helpful if he just left the game so he wasnt turbo charging enemy ults at least, but Im throwing??? this kid is ridiculous. I can only believe people that say “it’s never your teammate’s fault, you always could have done something better to win.” are hard throwers and trolls themselves when theres people doing “charge only rein challenge” and “torb hammer only challenge” type bs throwing games constantly.
And if it was my fault, then doesnt that mean for everyone else on my team, it was their teammates fault?
This shows a complete misunderstanding of Ball and tanking.
So he didn’t dive anyone and died.
Well, if he does, they had to turn and use abilities to kill him… So he made space for you to move up into, and baited abilities so now they have a window of nothing to stop you.
Instead of blaming ball. Ask what you could have done better.
