Hey, I wanted to ask if penalty reset for abusing text chat? I said some unkind things in text chat, but never received any warnings. I got a 2 week ban, but once I returned, I was spammed by maybe 5 warning messages in a row. I know the next penalty is a complete ban from the game.
Do these penalties reset with new seasons? I invested a lot of time in my account, but if I accidentally get banned by a troll report, I’d rather just start a new account.
i dont think they do, its just another blizzard way to kill their playerbase by making cussing a bannable offence
Don’t swear and go against the very terms of the TOS you agreed to and the social contract and you won’t have this issue.
that would suck. Who doesn’t get mad at your tank when he doesn’t want to swap of winston (enemy is playing hog, reaper, and junkrat)

They (as is my understanding) accumulate and never go away. The more times it happens the harsher the penalty.
I’m going to assume unkind things in text chat is a nice way of saying you were toxic.

thats the point, you cant say anything without it being deemed worthy of banning, unlike CS where everyone calls each other slurs, no snowflakes and no one gets banned for verbal abuse bc he gets instamuted by valve for too many comm reports

What NPC’s do has no bearing on the agreement you signed.
They do eventually but I’m not sure how long it takes. I got silenced for 2 weeks in 2021 and then later on in 2023 it happened again and I got the same lowest possible penalty of 2 weeks

if they want to make it no cussing at all, change the voiceline and the character model for mcree, its just hypocritical for blizzard
