Is 8GB Ram enough to run overwatch?
Internet says it is but that doesn’t seem believable to me
Should be enough if you don’t have tons of background stuff running. Lowering graphics settings might help a little bit too but not much, but then again, 8 GB should be enough, OW uses 5 or so when I play.
Wait really? That’s boss then! I don’t usually go with extra fancy graphics so that’d probably help
But as I said, you really need to go low on background stuff when playing, only use discord (or whatever VC you are using), close browser and steam etc., all that stuff eats up lots of RAM nowadays.
I’d usually just use in-game chat if anything since most of my friends are on console
Recommended ram is 8 GB for OW2, so you’ll be fine.
It is a 7 year old game at this point, 8GB is more than enough.
Yeah I’d hope so lol
Look at it this way, until about a month ago, I was playing with 8GB of ram on a 8 year old rig, what I can give blizzard props for is the optimization.
Hot damn. I’ve played console Overwatch for awhile and thought I’d finally make the jump to PC. But I didn’t wanna invest a whole lot right away so i wanted to start small with around 8GB to 16GB
Then go with 16GB so you can also play other, newer games. RAM is easy to get a good bang for your buck deal on. It is usually the CPU and GPU that will be the headaches.
i would go with 16gb to be save as windows itself can hog memory
Seconding Tracer and Disco, while OW2 ran fine on 8GB for me having the extra RAM if you’re thinking of it anyway is great.
I went from 8GB to 32GB because my RAM was getting munched too quick if I was playing anything a little less optimized, with Windows background processes being a core RAM muncher.
Highly recommend going for 16GB or buying a secondary 8GB RAM stick and installing it yourself just for future usage, depending on which is easier/more comfortable for you.
I play on 8GB it works fine. Make sure you don’t have too many background programs and you will be fine.
overwatch can take 8gb ram but your os and other things take ram as well so if you don’t compensate for that your gaming experience will be slow
the better ram cores and vga you have the better experiences you will have
as for ow2 requirements go you should have done a google search for it because i found it easily that way
