PC opt out of crossplay option

Please give us PC users and option to keep Console players out of our matches. They ruin it for everyone and it’s never evenly matched. There’s never a 1 to 1 ratio on each team. The team with more console players tends to always lose.

There’s an option for that, it’s under the “Play Ranked” tab.

my beef with crossplay is the DESYNC issues that are awful playing against “Crossplay” players.

other issues include regional data centers should have “opt out” from them.

Yes they do. Blizzard gave it to them after much complaining.

We shouldn’t have to be forced to play ranked on our own platform that they are visitors on. If they can choose whether they want to play QP with PC players, so should be PC players be able to choose if they want to play QP with console players. It’s equal treatment. Fair and square. If queue times get too annoying we can turn it back on, but the option should be available for everyone. Not just one special group.

Real?

Can’t tell. Playing with a controller vs. m/kb is just too different. I’ve tried both. The reaction time on the latter is just so much greater compared to controller.

This is certainly my opinion, but it’s also what I myself have witnessed watching console players in my lobbies.

Huh? Yes… That is quite literally how it works. Teams with better teammates do perform better. You think I am winning the matches with horrible teammates? Nah, homie. I win the matches with people who know what they are doing. Duh!

It does not have to be equal. For far too long us console players were peasants disregarded as rats on the streets. Now the tables have turned and we get to decide who we invade. Muahaha!

Yeah. I used to play on console but was unable to go back to controller after spending time playing on PC. Wild how quickly controller became unplayable once you get that mouse action down.

I was still in console during the brief period they added crossplay without aim assist and it was super bad. Couldn’t play anything other than Mercy. It’s a good thing that they added the aim assist, but personally, my experience with console players in PC lobbies has simply soured me on the whole crossplay experience. Nothing personal, just tired of the console Mercy pocketing her PC widow friend, or the toxic trios just trolling or throwing etc.

I remember a time when you were either still on console or new to PC and you had a very different opinion.

I think it does depend on the player, and of course your mileage may vary, but I ended up placing higher on PC than I did on console, which surprised me as I was expecting to place quite a bit lower. I might be an outlier though and on average you may be correct.

Yeah I was all for it when it first came out, super excited, was the only way I could play with friends, but now I’m 2 or 3 years on PC and all my friends are gone and I just can’t deal with it. Again, not saying it’s necessarily a skill issue that is my problem, many console players are good just like many PC players are bad, and def not saying crossplay shouldn’t exist, just advocating for all platforms to have the same option.

Exactly. I don’t know why people push against options. They are options, not mandatory.

I know it’s super easy to spot a controller user on a replay. Turning is always mechanical. You can tell most shots are lined up with strafe rather than character turning.

Also when a character is turning, you can ALWAYS tell it’s a controller player. The rate of turning is fixed, as with a mouse it’s more flick like.

Such an elitist take. There’s nothing to lose in QP, so why not let pc players beat up on console players?

That’s because unless the game’s aim assist is extraordinarily strong like it is in Apex, controller is always at a disadvantage against m&kb. Besides, the community constantly espouses that QP is meant to be super casual, what’s more casual than letting anyone play?

Again, if you complain about console players in QP, go play ranked. They both have skill-based matchmaking anyway, it’s not like you get to farm free wins in QP. Even if you do terribly, you still get comp points to get shiny pixels with.

I think, at least based on what I’ve seen, you are definitely an outlier or you were an Overwatch 1 player. I don’t think that the difference was that big in Overwatch 1, but something has shifted with Overwatch 2. Every replay I’ve watched of recent console games is basically just bad. Like Plat looks like Bronze and Masters looks like Gold type of bad. It’s dramatically worse for some reason.

does it really matter if you lose in quickplay? lol

Because I don’t know if you noticed but an alarming amount of so-called master race PC players actually truly legitimately believe that console players have an advantage over PC players due to the (terrible) aim assist, so they will leave or throw or sit afk typing nonsense about sweaty stacks if they see console players and it’s just getting really annoying dealing with all the copers and complainers. Doesn’t always happen, but the risk is always there. Would rather just not have them appear in my games at all and avoid all that noise so I can go back to people only complaining about cheaters and tryhards and matchmaking like the good ol’ days. :sob:

Also noticed that console players tend to be super toxic. Like I don’t report often, but the last 3 reports I’ve made have been console players being openly and blatantly racist. Dunno why, maybe it’s still free to create new console accounts so they don’t care about bans, but it’s really common.

Ah yeah, fair enough, this was def in OW1, I haven’t (and won’t ever) play ranked in OW2 so you might be onto something.

They won’t let you opt put because if too many people do it then crossplay is pointless.

I don’t really have an argument for whether it should or shouldn’t be a thing. I think people who think they’re gonna lose just because they have a console player, are dumb.

But convincing blizz to let you opt out is gonna need a better argument than ‘I don’t like losing in the mode where it’s already unbalanced rank wise, no i won’t go play the mode that currently caters to what I want (comp)’

You know, some people launch OW to actually play the game and its objectives. Playing to lose isn’t fun for some people.

We already have one, it’s called competitive queue.
