PC frame drops after new season update

AMD 5600x
RX6800

Since the update I’ve been unable to play games due to consistent frame drops making the game not smooth for aiming or play in general. The actual average has not changed just drops that ruin the experience. Pink mercy “update” also did not fix the issue which fixed the issue for a lot of PlayStation users.

Attempted fixes without fixing the issue: Updating drivers to latest, Reinstalling the game, toggling reduce buffer setting, lowering graphics settings, changing fps cap from custom to automatic.

I’m seeing the same with an Intel i7-8750H and an Nvidia 1060.
I’ve had to stop playing comp because it drops my framerate to single digits during team fights. My average framerate was 130 FPS last season!

the same thing has been happening for me to, anytime i move during a match my screen freezes, and i end up at some random spot since i was moving for (amount of time my screen was frozen for)

and also, i was able to play fine in every previous season up until now, and ive had nothing to do to entertain me for the past week and i hope they fix it

Do you have any Razer software installed? If so try disabling it / exiting it. There was an issue a few years ago with performance issues running Razer Synapse. I exited all Razer apps last night and my framerate is back up to 130 FPS.

That works but not all the time.

I get frame drop and then game closing down instantly, many people experience crashes freezes and fps drops after the Season 11 update, only, yet not a single post had a response from Blizzard official, from what I’ve seen, don’t think fix coming anytime soon, if they are aware of it at all

Maybe I could install the Razer software and then try removing it to see if it stops crashing, kappa.

I do not and never have.

Same issues here on AMD 6900HS / RX 6800 S

I used to run my game smoothly at high settings and never had any issues. Since the update on Thursday I’ve gotten random fps drops and lots of audio stuttering multiple times a game. I’ve had to set my settings to Low and it slowed the drops and audio issues, for the last few days, but today the game is mostly unplayable and constantly stuttering with deep fried sounding audio lol.

Never in my 8 years of playing this game has a patch destroyed my game so much haha

Same, erratic fps since the start of season 11, mostly regular microstutters every 30-60 seconds, which happens regardless of what is happening on screen (even while standing in spawn) on both of my machines.
R7 5800X/RX7900XTX/32GB@3733
R5 4600H/RX5500M/32GB@3200

Latest patch and resetting settings didn’t do anything, as well as chipset/gpu drivers (just to eliminate possibility). No vendor apps such as razer installed.

The last two seasons have ruined performance. Season made it so the game recompiles shaders at launch, so you can’t just jump into a game but instead wait 5-10 minutes until your fps recover. Season 11 introduced frame drops on top of the season 10 problems.

It reminds me of shader cache problem but i dont know whats it is. I have stutters since starting season 11 in every game. rx 6700 xt/5700x/1440p/170 fps.

I used to stream shows and play Overwatch all the time and now I get FPS issues and it’s dropping from 144 to 100 if I stream something. I can notice the difference visually.

NVIDIA 3090

I am only running Firefox and the game and I have this issue. No other background applications.

I can only give advices if you are using an amd card since that is what I use too.

Install a previous old driver for your card. Reinstall the game or scan and repair it in battle net.

im back to 24.4.1 amd drivers and not help. This is problem with game since patch. Only one thing that change in my pc.

Same.

Never had issues with Borderless Window now I get more FPS in Fullscreen which I have NEVER used. And the more FPS I am getting with Fullscreen is still less than what I had overall, and the game tanks sometimes during big team fights.

I was around 120-135 FPS prior on Borderless Window with no drops, now on Fullscreen it’s 100-115 but gets frame drops into the 90s which is very noticeable. Default FPS on Borderless Window now is in the 90s…

I’ve basically been playing widow like she’s a projectile hero the way the lag is so bad :skull:
