PC D.Va held hostage by console aim-assist

We’ve seen multiple stats from Blizzard this week showing that D.Va is disgustingly underpowered on PC. This is something that anyone who plays D.Va on PC would have been able to tell you for months now. We’ve also seen that she’s massively overperforming on console.

The difference is aim-assist. Close range, infinite-ammo shotguns combined with aim-assist to help with head-tracking is a recipe for a strong hero.

But this is an issue with the console aim assist, not the hero kit and it means the hero is kept in a garbage state for people (PC players) who don’t use aim assist.

D.Vas aim assist on console needs to be severely toned down and the rest of her kit buffed accordingly.

In what way? D.Va is terrible on PC but is the Tank on console. The reason is aim assist.

The actual difference is XIMs.

She’s the best XIM tank and the best tank to fight XIMs with.

I’m pretty sure she’s better on console because everyone else is worse at aiming.

I’ve never had any problem aiming my left click as DVa. The hitbox is bigger than pretty much every hero’s head unless they’re directly in your face.

Not that it matters anymore in normal comp.

Looking at the current T500 leaderboard, D.va seems to have gotten the Sombra treatment.
5 seasons straight of complete domination, and now POOF
No nerfs, no buffs to her counters, just SENT TO OBLIVION

Zarya with perks counters DVa way harder than she used to

On PC, sure.
On console, nah, D.va was still the most played tank in T500 despite a Zarya meta on PC.

People use XIMs on all heroes, not just D.Va. Again, the reason why she is the best Tank in that environment is… aim assist.

Yes, but none of the tanks are as effective when used with a XIM as D.va is.
Aim assist on its own has nothing to do with it.

On its own, aim assist means nothing. D.va wasn’t the strongest tank until S11.

do people actually keep aim assist on if they’re using XIM?

I’ve tried to play games with aim assist while I was using kb/m and it actually made aiming harder because the mouse wasn’t going where I wanted it to.

Yes. That’s the entire point of them. All the advantages of keyboard and mouse + aim assist.

if the game is auto aiming for them, what benefit are they getting from using a mouse?

Yeah, XIMs trick the game into thinking a controller is being used.
I think some XIMs even have the ability to use scripts.

Mouse aim is way faster and more flexible than an analogue stick. Ever tried to do a 180 using a controller vs a mouse?

no I’ve only ever played this game with a mouse.

some program moving my cursor for me would only make my aim worse. I just assumed auto aim was better than me, but I don’t think I’ve played against anyone using it lately.

I was going to make this exact thread myself.

Just nerf aim assist for Dva specifically so she can get real buffs for pc
