PC controller aim assist?

Yo devs, what are the chances of you enabling aim assist for controller users on PC?

Fortnite allows it with no issues and you can see a few console gamers are right up there playing against and winning against the best PC players out there.

And I think bringing up the “PC aim being so good that it wouldn’t matter cause controller users would get crushed” argument is flawed. Plenty of heroes in overwatch don’t require that extreme mechanical skill to play them at a very high level.

So, can we get a response? I’d really appreciate it.

A fat zero percent chance. They launched the game that way on PC and quickly realized their mistake and removed it.

Why do you have a PC, but not a mouse and keyboard?

I think its a case of he doesnt want to relearn a mouse and keyboard assuming hes coming from console

Wait wouldn’t it just be the same as playing on console? So what’s the point of playing on pc then? I play on console mostly because I enjoy controller more but when i play pc every so often I want the mouse and keyboard experience. Seems like a big waste of money to me to do both in the same way.

D.va with aim assist>? Doomfist with aim assist?
Bastion with aim assist?
Wait a minute, why was it a mistake : Dont console players have to deal with heros aim assist >? What was papa Jeff;s mistake @izzy

Play PC games with mouse and keyboard, or play console.

PC games are designed for mouse and keyboard, with an option to use controller.

It may take you a few weeks of grinding to get used to it, but it’s worth every second invested.

I came from years and years of owning ppl on my xbox at cod bf etc , Ow is my first pc fps and after months of abuse from my mates about using a controller I forced myself to learn Keyboard and mouse. I cant actually use a controller now it feels hideous compared to KB/M I promise you just learn it its much better

Why are people complaining about this? You don’t just tell someone to get a console if they want to play with a controller? I am great with a controller because I’m level 104 on Xbox and have nearly 15 hours on Zenyatta. It’s nice to bring a bit of console to pc. And it’s nice to BE NICE TO CONSOLE PLAYERS OR PEOPLE THAT USE CONTROLLER ON PC!!!

There’s also some people that do what they can to turn on aim assist even with a k/b. Destiny2 has (or at least had) a problem of people emulating a controller so that the reticle sticks to targets even though they use a k/b.

Ok it seems most of you missed the point here.

  1. I have a console and I do play on it.

  2. The devs can easily set it up to allow the controller imput to use aim assist on the PC and not allow the keyboard and mouse input to use it. If epic can do it don’t tell me blizzard can’t.

  3. I’ve been using controllers since the regular Nintendo was launched. I didn’t even have internet and a home computer until I was in middle School. (I’m old)

  4. I’ve tried learning keyboard and mouse but even as I get more used to it I just don’t like it. It just doesn’t feel right to me.

  5. Everything looks better on the PC and there’s more that the PC version has to offer as well as a less toxic community.

  6. Playing on console gives no opportunity to ever find yourself in the same match as the pros you enjoy watching.

I don’t see what issue there could possibly be by allowing it. Technically all the people using the controller would still be at a disadvantage but at least they could play on the platform they prefer and actually be capable of enjoying it.

Sure if MnK received the same aim assist.

I understand players who play console because they do not have the means to get a PC, but a PC gamer playing a FPS on a console pad is beyond me…

How about spending a couple of days playing normally to adjust to the mouse and keyboard rather than having Blizzard specifically design a solution for you…

I wouldn’t be that harsh, my sister plays with a game pad due to what’s basically a wrist injury that’s not going to get better. She just can’t use a mouse in terms of what games like this require.

Anyway, it’s no secret that Overwatch is centered around the competitive scene. It’s not so much (that I’d think anyway) that they don’t want to, it’s that it could be abused. People wouldn’t really have trouble writing emulation software to fool the system; at that point it’s basically built in aim-bot that the game already can use that you can enable and adjust.

I mean I don’t want to speak for the Overwatch team, but that’s the impression I get.

Remove Aim Assist on Console. Get used to that, then swap over to PC.
