Payload Distance

Did they make changes to how close you have to be to the payload for it to consider you on it? Because i’ve had a couple games where I or someone else is basically arm’s length from it and it doesn’t count as being on or near the payload and the timer runs out, meanwhile other times the support or dps on the enemy can sit above the payload on a bridge and the game will consider them as contesting it and not allowing it to move. Idk if I’m the only one that’s noticed this but there have been many games lost due to it not considering someone on the payload.

They didn’t. If the payload is contested, the time will run out and the payload will not move until you kill the enemy and stay near the payload.

What do you mean by this? U were alone on the payload and it didn’t move? That’s not possible.

Maybe if u explain it a little better or u give us some code to watch, I can tell u if there is a bug or not.

I have seen this on OW2 maps but not OW1 maps. Not sure if its the payload or a map issue but I think its a map issue because it doesn’t happen all the time.

Couple of times the entire lobby is confused because everyone is alive and fighting around the payload and the match just ends. Everyone is left with ???

I noticed it right away when OW2 launched. IMO the distance to be considered ‘on cart’ got a lot tighter… I see some one said something about it being only the OW2 maps? That would only be newqueens street? I guess I’d have to play some more with that in mind to see if you’re right - but if you’re referring to push bots that’s not the same thing.

Idk how u don’t understand it when I clearly stated what the issue was lmao. If I’m arms length next to the payload it should be contested since there is a radius to it. But some games u can be right on it and the overtime timer will still run out when it shouldn’t have. Or touching payload right before the timer for the game ends and having it not count as u touching when ur right next to it.

I suspect, judging by how the overtime run-down speeds up progressively, that it receeds its touch distance as overtime drags on.

Because yes, mid game you can halt a payload/robot by being on high ground some maps or emoting in the bushes in others but in OT it will try to reduce a never ending contest either way.

This is what I was thinking as well with the shrinking distance, as usually it mostly happens into overtime there have been some instances where there’s like maybe 3 seconds left to touch before overtime and it’ll still count as u not on it even though ur right next to it. So I’m not really sure tbh
