There is a player icon for “Path to pro”.
I don’t get how you’re meant to get it.
Reach top500 in a season?
Go up a rank tier in a season?
Reach a new career high?

According to the article I linked the picture from, I think players who sign up for a contenders team or whatever and stays in the rosters gets this player icon plus a spray as a reward.

You have to be on an Open Division team, based on my Googles. The deadline for registration is October 6th, and you have to remain on the active roster throughout the season.
Unlike other Open Division seasons, this Practice Season will not feed into Overwatch Contenders. However, we will have something nifty for you to show off your competitive streak—if you remain on your active roster all the way through the Practice Season, you will receive this (very cute) in-game Path to Pro player icon and spray.

Well, that’s nice. I guess it works the same way you get the Bastion Bricccc sprays from the streams.
You gotta go through Open Division teams to earn both sprays/icons.
That being, drama alert: that’s also all they will get compared to previous years with money at stake for winning.

Exactly, it’s so disusting, it took enormous proportions drama-wise on social medias. Altho i wish we could get the said icons, but it seems rather, demanding even for just getting them, I wish we could get them by watching OD on twith for non-“path to pro” players
Having it not tie into Contenders makes the “path to pro” label pretty ironic.
