Hello…
I am using Acer Aspire e 15 to play overwatch since the second summer games event (cannot remember the date) and overwatch was just fine

i had enough money to upgrade my laptop’s ram from 4gb to 8gb to get better fps and to reduce stuttering

However after i upgraded my ram and launched overwatch it shows that i am entering game and the login screen just slows down until it freezes,not just the game,the entire laptop freezes and the only way to stop it is to hard rest the laptop
sometimes it lets me past the entering game screen but it shows no buttons in the main menu then it kicks me back to the login screen and no matter how many times i click login button,it doesnt work only the exit game button is working
i have uploaded and read the overwatch game logs and it showed that the path normalization has failed.
I have checked for ram problems and scanned overwatch for errors but that didnt help me at all.
i have tested different games and they all worked just fine,only overwatch seems to have this problem.
My laptop specs are:

Intel 6200U 2.3GHZ up to 2.8GHZ
intel hd graphics 520
8 gb of ram -->(was 4)

There’s no need to make duplicate threads for the same issue. Also, please do not share your MSInfo publicly on the forum as it may contain private information about your computer.

After looking at your report for the model number, I see it is a System Model: Aspire E5-574, not an e15. This means the GPU that comes with the laptop (Intel(R) HD Graphics 520) does not meet the system requirements for Overwatch listed here: Overwatch 2 System Requirements - Blizzard Support.

I think your issues before were related to the GPU not being supported, and unrelated to your total RAM. I’m not sure what’s causing this new problem for you, but I imagine it has something to do with faulty RAM or a bad install of the new hardware. If you can go back to your original configuration and Overwatch loads, consider yourself very lucky.

but i have changed the ram 2 times and both of them gave me the same problem
can i at least try to run it in windowed mode?
i mean can i try to force windowed mode from the config file?

You could open a ticket and ask the staff about that.

Well i took out the ram and the game is running again
