Ah, narcissism… let me tell you the myth of Narcissus, as described in the Metamorfoses of Ovid.
Narcissus was a beautiful young man who loved to hunt. Women from all around Greece fell in love with him, but he turned them all down. He wasn’t interested in love, he only cared for the hunt.
One day, the nimph Echo saw Narcissus while he was busy hunting in the mountains. She, as well, fell in love with Narcissus, so she followed him. However, Narcissus also turned her down, so harshly, that Echo was heartbroken and fled. Since then she spent her days in caves, slowly fading of sadness until only her voice was left. Even to this day, wanderers claim to hear Echo’s voice when venturing in caves.
This wasn’t the only time that Narcissus broke someone’s heart. A maiden that was also harshly turned down by Narcissus prayed to Aphrodite. She wanted Narcissus to also experience how it was to love someone, but that love not being answered. And the goddess granted her wish.
One day, Narcissus arrived at a beautiful pond, with water so crystal clear that Narcsissu could see his own reflection as he wanted to take a drink. However, Narcissus thought that he saw a beautiful spirit that lived in the pond. Overwhelmed by what was actually his own beauty, Narcissus kept staring at his own reflection. He wanted to hug, kiss the apparition, but every time it disappeared, only to reappear shortly after. Narcissus couldn’t stop looking at his reflection. He tried to speak with it, but he got no answer. He didn’t eat, didn’t drink, didn’t sleep. He started to cry and weep because his love did not answer.
It continued like this until he eventually died of famine and exhaustion. Even in the underworld, it is said that he couldn’t stop looking at his reflection in the Styx. Where he once sat at the edge of the pond, a flower grew, the narcis, as a reminder to him.

so nypmh needed to be admired by someone she barely knew or her arrogant thinking led her to questionable behavior that gave her a lack of empathy of another mans free will and his life. seems pretty self centered to me to assume someone else is self centered cause they wont do what you want…

she had some conversations and such to get Narcissus punished because he told her no and she and her arrogant thinking assumed he can only be in love with himself and cursed him by defaming his name to a another witch without much evidence at all. he could have been gay.
