You mean the basic concept of those big Battle Royale games, having a game mode that basically is PUBG/Fort Nite because your base game is trash and you’re an unoriginal company trying to push a dying game?

Paladins is getting a Switch port with 60 fps and crossplay with the Xbox One. I’d say they are growing.
It’s not a gamemode it’s a separate game entirely. Also how is Paladins dying? It’s been having consistent player numbers for months.
If you think paladins has, is, or will ever have more player base than Overwatch you are mistaken.
Any company trying to do battle royale right now are desperate and trying to cash grab, it is not a sign of being successful or doing well.
Call of duty scrapping entire single player mode in favor of it is a telling sign of cash grab as well.
We have no way to know. Blizzard does not release those numbers.

You are correct. What I said is based off of pure speculation of popularity and what it “feels” like when playing said game.
Paladins you can certainly tell within a year of how their battle royale fairs on how their popularity and player base goes. The game itself never picked up steam and has had some highs upon release and severe lows when they tried to alter their progression and cosmetics. It isn’t dead, it has a player base, but it isn’t a top dawg by any means for shooters.
For OW, if OWL is considered successful then the next season of OWL will be even bigger so OW is then deemed “not dieing”. If OW comes out with some big follow ups to enhance the competitive game experience / embark on true PvE the game will only thrive. If it doesn’t then you can speculate the game is “dieing” as it follows the downward trend.
Last laugh? Not really. It’s not exactly like we’re at the final hurdle or something. But for a free game, Paladins is amazing, yes. Even today I still can’t believe it’s all for free. I’m so glad Paladins exists. Even though it’s not for me, with the card system and all, I still appreciate it.
As for streamers, remember that’s how they make their livelihood and income. Obviously they can’t JUST play Overwatch. They have to mix it up, branch out, keep the viewers interested. Imagine if we were streamers, would be ONLY stream Overwatch? Hell no, that would be so boring.
Define growing, crossplay could be little more than a desperate attempt to bolster an already weak roster of players. As I said, paladins is a dwarf in a system of giants.
Palidins, in essence, is a poor man’s Overwatch. It is second place, also consistent players numbers? Where can we get those numbers? Steam charts? We can see a steady decline in player number since 2016.
Also please, League of Legends has a consistent player base, Overwatch has a consistent playerbase, Dota, Smite, the giants of multiplayer PVP have consistency what Palidins has is the remains, left overs. Nothing.
They can’t even clip 50k players, so I guess we can say they’re about as good as… What’s that game that Fort nite ripped off, that Palidin’s dev is ripping off again? PUBG? No wait, even that buries Overwatch’s little brother. This game, is a joke, it is nothing compared to bigger titles and will always be nothing. You see what the dev’s had to do for a cash grab, Palidins must not be too hot.

When it launched it had 2k players. Over the course of a few weeks it dropped down to only 200 people playing the game

Actually realm Royale is pretty fun…
After whining about the death of dps heroes in Overwatch, AimbotCalvin is now back streaming Overwatch games on Twitch. No other fps game matches the smooth gameplay of OW. OW also has a level of wit attached to it that no other games match. Games like Paladin…it’s like returning to Atari or something.
