They keep picking 2 cp often & Kings Row
The map type is on a fixed schedule… Control > Assault > Hybrid > Escort > Control > Escort > Hybrid > Control
The loser of the previous map gets to pick a map within the map type for next round. The winner gets to pick to attack or defend first. (For the first control map, the higher seed gets map pick.) Furthermore, OWL uses a map pool, with the exception of control maps, only three maps from each map type is available to select from.
It should be noted Assault is only played once (because it is the map type that is most likely to end in a draw).

Shanghai must be loving what they are seeing here, Dallas switches to the ball dive (which Shanghai is great at) and is now holding the rush somewhat effectively.

Regarding the Reinforce Turtle saga…
Dallas should have picked any other map than King’s Row. If they lose this series, I don’t think Shanghai will have the arrogance to be picking Atlanta’s favorite maps. Although to be fair, maybe they trained a lot on King’s Row.
I feel that Shanghai is at their weakest with Assault (they have lost that map most during the playoffs). The problem is that it enables them to pick Numbani for the Hybrid which the rush comp is worthless on.
I feel Dallas is not respecting Atlanta by picking their best maps.
Realistically, in the case of Hybrid, they get to pick Kings Row, Numbani, and Eichenwalde in this map pool. The other two really don’t play well to the North American meta comps. So while map pick is important, it means nothing, if your team is not fully prepared to play at their maximum on other maps. King’s Row has been a staple pick ever since beta pro play,
UPDATE… Now this Dorado pick plays better to Fearless’ Winston play.
Yeah but I feel can play different comps better than Atlanta. But they keep mirroring them. IDK. Maybe Atlanta is that good.
