I feel the game has come a long way now. Watching professional Overwatch unless it is World Cup, Contenders, or League is difficult… both teams are in default skins (enforced by custom game rules) and we only have the default red or blue colors for most particle effects to discern action from a spectator view.
(Please note that players in any pro event only see the default skin colors for everyone from their view on their game client.)
Doesn’t mean that Paris and Washington should use identical colors reversed.
Some effects have been colored according to skins, but that is not a good idea either. During the pre-season exhibition games at least I was laughing nonstop at Torbjorn blowing his entirely white (away skin) molten core load. I will never look at that ult the same way.
