hiii gamers hows it goin

For those of us who are wondering why Soe appeared distracted or said “We lost” on Watchpoint Preshow:

Her Swiss men’s national soccer team was playing in the Quarterfinals of a major competition for the first time since 1954. After a nailbiter 120 minutes, and while playing with 10 men for the entirety of extra time, shorthanded Switzerland lost to Spain in a penalty shootout by a verdict of 3-1.

Of course, the Brits on the desk and in the virtual casters booth might be even more distracted tomorrow when England plays Ukraine.

No matter…best of luck to the Spanish in the Semifinals and congrats to Switzerland for making it to the Quarterfinals for the first time in over 60 years.

Now, onto the matches at hand! I would like to believe that the Shock cleaned up their errors and will get wins against the Eternal and the Outlaws. However, it is tempting to pick the Eternal after last week’s dismal performance. I’ll go 3-2 in favor of the Shock. Hopefully, that doesn’t come back to bite me.

As for our second match, I’m going with 3-2 Washington over Atlanta.

Paris (and Gladiators) are my fave teams, so it did hurt me to pick SF to win, but that was my pick also 3-2 SF. I’ll be happy if I get it wrong though, so it’s all good.

I’m saying 3-2 Atlanta.

[slaps $5 on the table]

Let’s go, Arena, you’re on.

daan, kaan, ans…theres a pattern here

Well, whatever issues the Shock were having last week, they appear to be gone now, as the Shock are one map away from taking the series and keeping their hopes for Hawaii alive!

AFTER MAP 2 (Match 1)

Nepal (Control): San Francisco Shock 2, Paris Eternal 1

Watchpoint: Gibraltar (Escort): San Francisco Shock 3, Paris Eternal 2

MATCH SCORE: San Francisco Shock 2, Paris Eternal 0

NEXT UP: The second half of Eternal vs. Shock, starting with Hanamura (Assault) and then Hollywood (Hybrid) if necessary. The San Francisco Shock are on MATCH POINT!

welcome to 2cp everyone

Paris just pulled off the greatest comeback I’ve ever seen on Hanamura. They lost two people to start the fight in overtime and ended up capping the whole point on the backs of their Baptiste and Tracer. It’s dangerous to lose one person on attack in overtime, let alone two to three in multiple fights, yet they still got the job done. Incredible.

Well I am off to a good start. Picked 3-1 shock in my Pick’ems

I can already see a bunch of “REMOVE 2CP NOW” and “GET RID OF OVERTIME IN OVERWATCH NOW” threads being created, in light of the last 2 maps…

But no matter. The Shock take the match and stay in the hunt for a spot in the Summer Showdown.

FINAL (Match 1)

Nepal (Control): San Francisco Shock 2, Paris Eternal 1.

Watchpoint: Gibraltar (Escort): San Francisco Shock 3, Paris Eternal 2.

Hanamura (Assault): Paris Eternal 4, San Francisco Shock 3.

Hollywood (Hybrid): San Francisco Shock 4, Paris Eternal 3.

FINAL SCORE: San Francisco Shock 3, Paris Eternal 1

SAN FRANCISCO SHOCK WINS!

The Shock likely saved their Summer Showdown chances by taking this match in a fairly convincing fashion, so whatever Crusty did over this past week worked.

Now it’s time for the second match of the day…Justice versus Reign. Let’s rock!

I would have to imagine that this is an attempt to try and limit spam. I do know that a few years ago, when Overwatch League and Contenders was broadcasted on Twitch, for a Contenders playoff series Blizzard tested a feature in which in order to be able to chat, you had to link your Twitch and Blizzard account. Perhaps they’re testing something similar here, only lowering the bar so that commenting is restricted to people who subscribe to the channel?

I don’t know, we’ll need Wyoming or a blue to chime in…this just started appearing this week for me.

Is the OWL YouTube chat supposed to be in sub only mode? Seems kinda weird…

the watchpoint preshow was like “if justice runs decay im rooting for them” but decay has died first every fight so far LOL

I forgot about the scoreboards weeks ago so I’ll never catch up lmao

Justice fans, if we end up losing this, blame me. I’m a professional blame taker…and I may also be responsible for the losses thanks to me putting on this Justice shirt…and every time I wear a team shirt, that team loses…

AFTER MAP 2 (Match 2)

Busan (Control): Atlanta Reign 2, Washington Justice 1

Junkertown (Escort): Atlanta Reign 1, Washington Justice 0

MATCH SCORE: Atlanta Reign 2, Washington Justice 0

NEXT UP: The second half of Justice vs. Reign. The Atlanta Reign are on MATCH POINT!

i might be regretting my WAS 3-2 prediction

put decay on tracer 2021

I’m hearing through the headset that Assassin’s back is sorely in need of a chiropractor after he single-handedly willed the team to extra innings on Volskaya…

It’s not enough, though, as the Justice fall to the Reign 3-0.

FINAL (Match 2)

Busan (Control): Atlanta Reign 2, Washington Justice 1.

Junkertown (Escort): Atlanta Reign 1, Washington Justice 0.

Volskaya Industries (Assault): Atlanta Reign 3, Washington Justice 2.

FINAL SCORE: Atlanta Reign 3, Washington Justice 0

ATLANTA REIGN WINS!

The Reign start off their Summer Showdown campaign strong, taking the match in a very decisive manner. For the Justice, I’m afraid, it’s back to the drawing board to figure out why the train is coming off the track.

That’s it for now! Live matches resume at 2:00AM PDT (5:00AM EDT) with Day 1 of Week 2 of APAC Summer Showdown matches. We look forward to seeing you then. If you’ll excuse me, I need to finish putting a temporary fix on the mower and then get some sleep…have a good night, everyone!
