Can someone please explain the map differentials in the OWL app?
if you look at the maps
It is how many maps you won vs lost.
Not if you won the match
They use the map differential to place teams with the same win/loss record
for example
you can win the match on a KOTH if you take the point first. ( Like Nepal ) both times which would give you a map diff of 2 ( for winning 2 maps and 0 losses )
But if you took the first round and the other team took the second it would require a third round
then the diff would be 1 ( 2 wins to 1 loss )
Hope this make sense.
I think I understand. So it has more to do with rounds than the match itself. So right now my team, Houston, has a 2-0 overall W/L ratio. And a 6+ map differential in the stage standings. So within those 2 games, they won 6 more rounds than they lost. Is that right?
yep
And even though the top 5 teams are 2-0 they are using the map differential to put them in rankings
That is why Excelsior is 6-1-1 so only have a +5 so are in 4th place
Right. Ah, ok. I get it. I just looked at the standings again and now it makes sense. Thanks!
