OWL fine and ban XQC for using TriHard 7

Mod note: Discussing disciplinary actions on the forums is not acceptable and is grounds for temporary suspension of posting privileges.

What a complete and utter disgrace for the OWL.

There isn’t and never will be ANYTHING racist about using a twitch emote.

As a fan of Overwatch but no longer the league, I am disappointed by how easily they are controlled and manipulated into seeing things that are simply not there. People are watching to have fun and enjoy themselves, not watching to see all the expression and love be sucked out of their broadcast.

Blizzard should be ashamed of themselves. This is a new low.

He’s done a lot more than that my friend. I think you need to read up a little more on the situation. Also, be prepared for this thread to be deleted, just like every other thread made today crying about xQc getting what he deserves.

THANK YOU BLIZZARD for taking appropriate action against somebody who is a very poor role model.

well this is only like the 50th thread on this topic today that is going to be deleted

XQC, the most toxic pro player out there gets banned. I would never have thought that…

You have to understand the underlying origin of the emote, that being a joke cutout from TriHex and then got the name “TriHard” after a Twitch admin was asking why he was “trying [so] hard” to speedrun a video game.

But if you regular Twitch you’ll see nowadays people twist it in a new way – maybe any time a black individual appears, or someone says “gimme”, examples go on and on.

Besides the fact: he’s done more than that. A repeated offender while being part of the Overwatch League, thus heavier penalties. Say if he does something in the future, like calling another pro a retard over Twitter that’d be more trouble for him.

Sure, it’s going to make many mad but imagine the PR disaster if all four of these players didn’t get fined/suspended - I would bet you little by little advertisers and sponsors would begin to pull out further pressuring Blizzard to act.

50 threads in 2 hours? Guess I’m not the only person who sees the jealousy and hypocrisy created by racist haters and the league.

i am just saying they are deleting them

i dont agree with the decision but you gotta be careful talking like that around here :joy:

So using a black emote when a black person is present is racist?

So using a white emote when a white person is present is racist too…

Sure hope there aren’t any green frogs out there or that’s next.

It’s hypocrisy and it’s not intelligent it’s sad.

Again…

You’re choosing to focus on this one thing and ignore the other extremely disrespectful actions xQc has constantly taken.

You’re ignoring Blizzard publicly calling XQC a racist and how that affects him and the league. It’s simply untrue … I am focusing on what is wrong here, not what is right.

xQc is being harassed and being hung on the cross to be bludgeoned by SJW over-reaching crybaby bs. He didn’t do ANYTHING wrong. He’s just being horse whipped to set an example and make everyone else in the league too scared to say anything but be robots 24/7.

It’s unfair to him, and this should cause an outcry. But the way these forums alone are policed shows you what kind of people are at Blizzard and their ideologies. Good luck having an opinion that differs from their hiveminded echo chamber of California-fueled PC nonsense.

If players can’t act like professionals and understand the impact and influence of their behaviors, then they don’t deserve to be pros. This is the case with literally any other employed human being on earth. Act appropriately or you will be in trouble.

Re-read my post…Blizzard is LYING about racism thus CREATING racism. They are literally breathing life into something that was never there.

HOW is that professional???

But OWL calling someone racist even when there is prove that he is not is acting professional?

You guys are being so dramatic. fanbois eh?

They didn’t directly call him a racist. They pointed out that he engaged in behavior that a lot of people could consider racist (even if you don’t), and as a professional player in the spotlight, it’s his responsibility to use common sense and remember that everything he does and says publicly on the internet reflects on the organization he signed a contract with.

If you guys can’t wrap your heads around this, I’m guessing you’re kids.

Racism isn’t subjective LOL.
Also… “xQc repeatedly used an emote in a racially disparaging manner on the league’s stream and on social media…

Not going to repeat myself. Everything I wrote still stands.
