OW2 | Xbox controller disconnecting mid game

I play on a Xbox series x with a series 2 elite controller and every couple of games my controller will become fully unresponsive until it randomly decides it wants to work again. The only possible solution i have found is having my controller plugged into my console however i only played 1 or 2 games with it plugged in. Additionally after having this issue i played Sea of Thieves for 3 hours and the issue didn’t occur but when i booted OW2 back up it disconnected in my first game back so I’m pretty sure its a OW2 problem.

I’m having the same exact issue, initially I thought it was my controller because I’ve been having mic issues, but as you said, I’ve played other games and never had any issues. Weird how this happens. The controller becomes completely unresponsive because I can’t open the guide or anything. I would remove a battery and connect it again but it would disconnect literally after a min, I honestly thought I was the only one with this issue. Also when the game ends and I’m at the main menu, everything is back to normal. Glad someone brought this up.

I can’t even remove a battery to reset my controller cause the elite series 2 has a inbuilt battery pack. And yeah like you said when I get back to the main menu everything works just fine so it seems to only happen in game.

Had a big problem just now when my batteries ran out on my xbox controller and reconnected immediately during the match with another controller. However, although I could move my character around it still said “please reconnect controller” on the screen permanently and the background was still blurry and no other actions would work. Also had a bug with when I respawned as a different support character that I didnt select.

Same issue here, same controller, same everything. Trying to play with a wire attached now to see if that is a workaround.

Same issue. Disconnect happens almost every game and the only way I’ve been able to reconnect is by removing controller batteries. Playing on Xbox Series X with Xbox anniversary controller.

This glitch seems to only happen to me with the headset mic plugged in

Same issue in OW and the OW2 beta. My wired controller will randomly disconnect , usually I can unplug it and plug it back in but sometimes I have to completely restart the game. It’s horrible when it happens in comp, I look like a leaver.

Please fix this, this is a major issue in which our controller becomes unresponsive multiple times per game.
Should absolutely be amongst the top priorities of what needs to be fixed.

I posted about this back in the beta! I have an ordinary Xbox Series X controller that came with the Xbox Series X.

It works if you plug it in to the console, but wireless it becomes unresponsive, and I have to replace the battery pack to get it to work.

Even worse with an elite controller cause you have no way to power it off lol. I need to have it plugged in which i hate or have a second controller just to hit the xbox button and bring up the xbox menu so i can use my elite again

This happens to me too. Even with the controller plugged in. Game is unplayable for me as it happens almost ever game.
Probably going to refund my watchpoint pack today as I haven’t been able to even play the game because of this.

Exact same thing for me. I have to keep it plugged in or have another Xbox controller to turn on when it disconnects to get the elite controller working again. What is happening here it’s so weird??

Also to give the full details of my setup for the bug report. I’m running a new Xbox elite series 2 controller on an Xbox series x, usually with an Astro a40 headset plugged into the controller. During OW2 games the controller will randomly disconnect for around 10ish seconds and sometimes it will accept some inputs by with a significant 3 second delay on movements. My friend in the party chat said it sounds like I’m cutting in and out as well which has to do with my mic being connected through the controller. Only experiencing this issue in OW2, only solutions so far have been to have another controller on standby to try to debug the first controller, and I’ve started plugging in my controller via usb to the Xbox but unsure if this is helping or not yet.
