Ow2 Tank Damage Variation is Huge

The Tanks have weird ranges.
Some feel like brawlers with larger health pools.
Some feel like Dps with larger health pools.

Feels like the identity has been lost.
I know they’re renaming them to be brawlers but they feel way too confusing.
Best example for now would be DF who feels like he does no damage upon engagement unlike Orissa who could legitimately take you out instantly with her abilities combined.

It’s a bit weird that the one and only Doomfist gauntlet does the same damage as grandma’s dart gun.

This is what I have been saying all the time for OW1 but nobody seems to have been able to hear me through all the double shields.

Some tanks are allowed to deal too much damage while other barely even do any.

Most top players seem to be ranking Doom very highly so far

Maybe he’s just harder to play in this iteration

I have seen wild variation on who top players think is good. Space and Super both just last night were talking about how trash Doom is. I’ve seen tier lists with D.Va both at top and bottom, and Zarya is allegedly great for top players but seems way less powerful for my mileage.

Idk who Space is but Super is known to jump to horrible conclusions so rest assured your Doomfist seems to be ok

Space is another OWL player and generally always the rank 1 tank NA. He also went to say that between alpha and bets they nerfed Tracer so hard she does not exist in pro scrims for the overwatch league.

My understanding is that D.Va and Orisa are the strongest tanks, and possibly Sigma as well.

D.Va is the jack of all trades pick for any map and comp. Not OP but always brings heavy value

Orisa is OP as balls on flat ground but gets hard countered by any one on high ground

Sigma has replaced Hog with rock + left click combo

The only good thing about doom rn is that he actually is kind of a Tracer counter with the big aoe slam more hp and power block

The “problem” with Doom is that you have to land his main shots to do damage.
So that makes him bad on lower ranks.
I have been watching GMs streamers get demolished by a Doom that after the slam, land a couple of shots. Both on DPSs and Supports.
But if the Doom misses three of the first four shots, then you are kinda safe.

Doomfist requiring to land primary fire to be effective has ALWAYS been the barrier to be good at the hero. This is not new to tank Doomfist.

Admittedly, it feels Doom tank works best when all of the dps and team focus on whoever he is punching or distracted by him.

He is kind of like wreckingball in that regard.

I honestly think it’s Doom/Rein/Winston that are struggling.

Zarya I actually think is pretty strong, Sigma feels Meh to me, which means he’s probably broken at high ranks (that seems to be how it works), Orisa feels strong, Ball feels strong, Hog feels strong, D.va feels strong.

Actually pretty happy, 5/8 really isn’t bad. And I’m glad that Ball isn’t, like, dominating pros. I was worried that would happen and he’d get nerfed to oblivion, but no one’s really talking about him.

No, Orisa needs to get some nerfs. She is an unkillable killing machine right now.
If Doom need a buff, it sure isn’t to his mobility/attack ability.

Well, I guess it’s time to main someone else.
If GM+ can make him work against other GM+, then maybe new Doom is not for you.

Yes, but DPS Doom have three stuns (two of which have high damage) that makes it easier.
Tank Doom needs to land multiple shots to a moving target without depending on abilities that erase half the health bar of an enemy.

Borderline good Dooms now are gonna struggle.
