[OW2] Support changes brainstorming

Here’s today’s harvest of ideas I got

Support Passive

Combat Medicine:

  • Support heroes respawn immediately after the kill-cam finishes. 13sec respawn, down from 20sec.

Baptiste

Biotic Launcher

  • Healing Grenade projectile speed increased 20%
  • Can detonate healing grenades midair by shooting them (grenades must travel at least 5m distance before this works
  • Can detonate healing grenades midair with the FUNCTION button
  • Increased horizontal movement speed for low power jumps

As players like ML7 pointed out, it’s a pain to land these grenades at longer ranges, as teammates are more spread out. And jumping around is fun dueling mobility.

Mercy

Caduceus Blaster:

  • Weapon switch speed reduced to 0.2sec, down from 1.2sec

It’s hard to duel with Mercy when it takes 1.2sec to switch to her blaster, then 1.2sec to switch back. 2.5sec to fire one blaster shot is pretty bad.

Resurrection

  • No changes

Angelic Blessing

  • E Rez can be used on a living teammate to provide an extra 10% of maximum health heal speed from mercy for 6 seconds, provided by a runic circle on the ground that follows the teammate. (Does not work with on airborne teammates)

Gives Mercy a way to heal Tanks and priority targets, without making PharMercy or EchoMercy be broken.

Valkyrie (Ultimate)

  • Staff Heal stream is not broken during cast time

Melee

  • Staff Heal stream is not broken during melee

Zenyatta

Discord

  • Affected enemies deal 10% less damage to Zenyatta

Not sure if this is needed but whatever

Ana

Biotic Grenade

  • 4sec duration.
  • Does 50% antiheal to enemies.
  • 50% heal boost to friendlies.
  • Affected enemies deal 50% less damage to Ana.
  • 75 damage
  • 100 healing
  • 12sec cooldown, down from 15sec

SleepDart

  • 0.2sec minimum duration, down from 1.5sec
  • 5sec maximum duration

Pretty much all the CC/Debuffs in the game for drastically reduced effectiveness in OW2, besides those from Ana. This brings them in line. While also providing Ana a way to directly deal with flankers.

"Had an idea for an ability to replace Res.

Mercy already has good mobility, and I think this ability combined with her GA have good tandem.

Basically… Mercy casts a knockback around herself. And in the same instance as the knockback, she brings up a protective bubble. Those who find themselves inside the bubble cannot shoot outside of it, and those outside the bubble cannot shoot inside of it.
The protective nature of the bubble could buy her some time to heal her allies, or get some health back herself.

Haven’t decided if the bubble is invulnerable to damage, but lasts a short while OR if it can be destroyed but lasts a tad bit longer if it isn’t destroyed. Then there’s also ultimates and how they would function against the bubble and those inside/behind it.
But on paper it sounded like a cool idea.
You could fly over to an ally in danger using GA, then pop the bubble to prevent further damage. And even if you flee from the bubble, it’ll still be blocking damage while it’s between you and the enemy."

Idea for Mercy.

Might be interesting if that AOE knockback was just mixed into the Valk casting animation.

i like the ana and mercy changes generally, but 100 dmg is probably too high for Bio nade. maybe start with 75 (up from 60) before changing it more drastically. cooldown should probably be at least 12s too.

That works, tbh, I just didn’t have the values memorized.

Proposed QOL changes for Genji. Activating Dragonblade now causes the enemy Mercy to instantly explode saving you the .0001 second it normally takes to kill her.
