OW2 Screen Tearing / Enabling vsync = mouse input lag

OW1 I had vsync disabled, never had an issue.

In OW2 there is visible, horizontal screen-tearing.
Enabling vsync fixes it, but then there is a considerable delay on mouse input; literally unable to play majority of heroes due to the delay.

I’ve never had this issue in other games, including recent AAA titles on high/ultra quality.

For now I’m playing with the tearing, which as you’d expect just results in massive headaches and painful eyes. I’m not sure how long my eyes can tolerate this.

I am open to suggestions.

Edit: I have enabled Nvidia FastSync, and played one game; this seems to have helped? Also not noticing any input delay, though FasySync is advertised to have some delay, but nowhere near as bad as vstnc. Will update post tonight after more testing.

If you also want to try: “Nvidia Control Panel” > “Manage 3D Settings” > “Programs” > “Overwatch 2” > “Vertical Sync”: Fast

Update: FastSync fixed tearing, no input lag, but occasional framedrops. It’s not a solution.

Only OW2 does this to me too.

I’ve fixed it by removing the game files from my computer. If I could burn them, I would.

What’s your refresh rate?

nVidia has a fresh driver that was released after Overwatch 2. Installing that fixed the screen tearing on my machine. My adaptive hardware sync works again with the same settings I used for Overwatch 1.

I have the latest nVidia driver and I still have a lot of tearing. And it’s not just in OW2. I even get it on WoW. 3090ti here.
