The swap to 5v5 and wonderful changes to matchmaking really is great! The proof is seeing people who have been plat all their lives finally getting boosted to- I mean finally climbing to masters! It really is great that players are just magically improving at the game and aren’t assisted in anyway by a broken glue and duck tape system n.n
I think they secretly lowered the entry level to ranks by 1000 each so more people can be included! How progressive!

Or there’s just a larger amount of players which inherently lowers the skill floor of all the tiers.
Yeah, Last time I played comp in OW 1 I was Low Diamon/High Plat – OW 2 and apparently I’m masters. I do well enough in the games but I honestly just want to wreck people in Plat – plat is where I was most happy.
sure … i played 7 games 6 lost 1 win because my team couldn’t do anything and the enemy was dominating and if you don’t play with characters that are very good you can’t get promoted very much
I play, for example, only a reaper and from season to season it gets worse because they add broken characters or rework ult for brig and it becomes without weakness and nothing can be done completely
this game is for people who play op characters there is no such thing as an improvement in the player’s skills if someone plays something beyond the meta
this game is tragic
The game really isn’t made for one trick players. You really need to learn to flex at least a little, Since you play a Flex Hero you should try maybe Soldier?
For example, I play the following for each role
Tank - DVA, Sygma, Rein, JunkerQueen
DPS - Ashe, Soldier, Widow and Mei
Healer - Ana, Brig, Lucio
If you’re going to stick to a single Role then learn at least Two heroes one Main and one Flex hero (look up which are flex and which are main). Then you’ll climb up so much faster.

i play e.g. also ramattra/mccree/hanzo/mercy the rest of the characters are just boring for me but it doesn’t mean that one of these characters is as interesting and fun as reaper and i prefer to play reaper most of the time
it still does not change the fact that the game has no balance and is made to play op characters and of course there are no equal games because 1 team always dominates
No, the game is what the game is. You can choose to play the game as intended or choose to play another game that fits your game style better. I’m not trying to be mean just stating facts.
i.e. this game is worth nothing in skill etc if it doesn’t reward you for being good only for playing a better character xD
I’ve played a lot of games similar to ov and I’ve never seen such a trash in terms of game balance and ranked
e.g. in cs (different game mechanics but) I had a global because I played well here even if I’m a god on reaper I won’t have gm because I don’t play a meta character and that’s the problem
This game is not a typical FPS, though a lot of the same skills do apply. It’s a MOBA FPS so if you’ve played any MOBA games ever or even an MMO you’d know that team composition is a huge element of how the game is played. If you’re limiting yourself (and your team) to playing only one hero then you’re limiting your options in terms of being able to counter the enemy team.
Like I said, stop thinking about what YOU want the game to be and learn how the game actually is. If you want to climb anyway.
I played moba and I played mmo and I don’t really know any game I’ve played I’ve never seen a worse game broken in terms of balance and ranked because if you’re good you should level up… in ov1 I also played only reaper almost and I leveled up from silver to diamond in a few seasons because I’ve gotten better ov2 doesn’t offer any progression unless you’re playing meta characters
Hopefully it will be just temporary, once things get back to normal those people will drop down, if I remember it was the same when OW1 came out I specifically remember Season 3 (overwatch 1) where people were going from silver/gold to masters etc LOL

Ehh, more than likely you’re just not playing the way the game is intended to be played, as is indicated by what tends to win and what tends not to (along with, though less importantly, matching developer comments).
Well, I think the game would be better if I had a good chance of winning despite only ever playing a single character.

By the end of OW people were gated almost entirely by aim because everyone left playing had absurd levels of experience and game sense.
