OW2 players will know what OP rez actually looked like

just wait until a future OWC event featuring the 2017 Moth Meta comes around.
That‘s what OP rez actually looked like.

The current rez is not even a frail shell of what it used to be.

Be VERY grateful for that 1.75s cast time yall

Can’t wait for the salt that is 3 invulnerable rezzes, or 3 instant rezzes.
Both options were pretty horrible to play against XD

Valk Mercy with 20s duration, 100% bonus GA speed and 4 instant rezzes is gonna be such a joy to play against

It was real silly that the devs ever thought that was a good idea XD

I’m looking forwards to the flight and rez speeds, the rez amounts not so much.

People will finally understant the “kill mercy first” mentality.

Hey guys that lost 1 limb, be VERY grateful that you didn’t lose 2, because it could be worse!.

This is how you sound OP. Yes Moth meta was even worse, but that doesnt mean that Invul Mass Ress was one of the worst things that happened in OW1. Chill.

I’m pretty sure we won’t get the invulnerable mass rez in owc.
It happened in the first year of ow and didn’t really shake the game up too much.

But moth meta was pretty much confirmed by the devs, so we’re just getting the popcorn ready in advance for the fireworks.

Invul Mass Rez was a joke compared to Moth Mercy.
It was absolutely cancerous to fight against, but very very far from being op

Literally :sob:

I mean, it was literally what prompted the rework but sure my dude.

No.
Don’t be mistaken.

One thing is being OP, and a different thing is being broken. It wasnt OP because bringing bad players to life again doesn’t grant anyone a victory, thats for sure.

Now the “hide and rez” game + no counters (because invul) was definitely pure trash. It was not as trash as “I need a Moth in my team or we lose 85% of the time”, I will give you that but then again, thats not saying much.

Again, you are saying :

One is really bad. And the other one is really really bad.
Ok ? :man_shrugging:

Do you have proof of this? Devs literally saying that they had to rework the ultimate because of the invulnerability that they added to it, like you’re saying?

And not because the ult was difficult to balance from the start and had to be changed because of that.

It was nerfed for a reason and it still needs nerfing.

The timeline and the comments on the Developer blog yes.

1 - Mass Ress was a problem due to “hide and res” mechanics
2 - Mercy mains complained “it was a death sentence”
3 - Invul Mass Ress became an insane problem due to “hide and res” + no counters
4 - Devs opted for the rework.

They had plenty of months to rework it without adding invul, and the moment they added invul, it became broken and rework followed quite fast actually.
Some people say unironically that Seagull did this but unless you are part of that conspiracy theory crowd, then yes. Its clear why Devs did it.

Has nothing to do with immortality.

Without the invulnerability, yes.

So they tried invulnerability as a band aid fix that didn’t end up working?

They didn’t rework the ult because of the invulnerability. They tried to fix the ult with immortality and reworked it when that didn’t happen.

So the ult was difficult to balance from the start and had to be changed because of that.

The immortality didn’t cause it like you claimed. You proved yourself wrong.
Have a nice day.

My guy Im giving you the timeline, chill with the answers to questions no one asked.

And it wasnt. 100% skill issue but go off.

2+2 equals 4, 6 minus 2 also equals 4 … whatever you are “refuting” here makes zero sense.

It did. You are the one that claimed “didn’t shake the game up too much”.
My guy, if the game “wasn’t shaken” or the skill was not broken due to the previous problems + no counters (invul added) then you are literally proving my point.

Thanks for winning the argument for me. Cya

Amazing fail at logic by the way. Claiming A was problematic (nothing happened, it got buffed , literally) but A+B was so bad that it had to be reworked. Surely B didnt prompt the change

Nothing changed with the immortality though. You could still send a single flanker to hunt her down if she wasn’t with her team. Just like you needed to keep your eyes peeled for the perma invis sombra if she wasn’t with her team.
Nothing changed about that, just the fact that she could live through rezzing her team did.

From your explanation, the ult wasn’t balanced/didn’t feel balanced as it was, so the devs tried fixing it. And when fixing didn’t work, they rebuilt it.

In conclusion. The immortality didn’t make rez any more broken than it was. It wasn’t liked before or after the invulnerability.
It wasn’t the invulnerability that caused the rework.

Just like sombra’s recent rework for the worse, it was caused by people who had skill issues with it complaining about stuff in the first place.

Sure bud, nothing changes when you add immortality to an ability. Sure bud.
Like If I added right know immortality to Death Blossom, people would be 100% fine with it. Amazing bad faith arguing right there. You are digging an even deeper grave lol.

No.
Players complained it was unfun to play against, and encouraged bad mechanics. Also balance wise it was ultra frustrating to play against. Stats wise, it was “meh” or in the “Ok” zone. This is Devs saying it not me, so relax.

Not in this universe. Again, look at the FACTS:

  • Heavily disliked ability gets complained about
  • Heavily disliked ability gets buffed so it has no counters
  • Heavily disliked ability becomes broken due to player feedback AND stats/game balance logic.
  • Heavily disliked ability gets reworked.

It doesn’t take a genius to see that having no counters (added invul) was clearly the the last pull of the trigger for the rework but if you want to believe otherwise, live your dream bud :+1:

Now don’t be insanely dishonest and argue in bad faith to claim that immortality changed/changes nothing. That is disgusting and fallacious to a brutal degree.

Who promised this event?

BUT, they dont… so it will be fun to play.

Revive as an ultimate currently in OWC is already overpowered.

Yep.

Though Seagull had nothing to do with it, but OWL did.

Bruh be so fr bahahhahaha.
