OW2 looks more playable than OW1

I swear, after seeing and hearing the PvP aspects in OW2, I honestly believe its going to be a lot more balanced than what OW1 is currently. Of course its not the final product of the game but the direction theyre taking with this sounds like its going to be more dynamic, fluid, and balanced. Lots of hero changes, balance changes, more heroes, new modes, reworks, and many more that I’m really excited for. Really looking forward to see how the new 5v5 system will turn out to be, and how many new additions and changes will be made to the game.

Incoming negative comments and 9328597209385790 reasons why OW2 5v5 is a bad idea for the game and why im “stupid”

Did not see 1 impactful tank play during the PvP showcase just one pile of deathmatch. Looked awful.

Tbh tho, unironically: If you throw current Genji in there with all the healing nerf and cc removal/dps rebalance its quite possible he becomes A-S tier without even having to buff him.

Just remember we’re only seeing one piece of the big puzzle of the game. Dont know the full context but personally, i see the direction of the game going for the better.

Bro im not even kidding, genji will actually be balanced with how OW2 is currently taking their direction to. It’ll actually make him useable without needing any changes to him at all.

But the biggest change is Tanking why would they not show anything? I have 0 trust in them.

Yes I think I’m leaning towards 5v5 format, myself. Opens up a lot of individual strength for Tank heroes and allows for the potential “solo carry” to become possible if done right.

Also helps heroes such as Genji, the environment suits him more. And it finally gave reason to make a Bastion rework

edit: I cannot spell today apparently, sorry

That just goes to show how well designed the hero is where you could make him viable if your game was balanced.

I wouldnt typically say that “they werent showing anything.” They’d show some but they probably didnt show all. But hey if you dont have any trust on them, thats fine. Aint forcing ya to love or trust them or anything.

Isn’t this what overwatch 1 used to have?

They haven’t done many changes yet as they said during the stream. There are tanks getting major powershifts, reworks, new abilities and stuff. Most heroes don’t even have their new designs, imortality field still works like currently (they’re never going to allow that ability to exist in OW2 with the current way they’re heading with things).

They definitely did not help their case though. All bets are on NEW and OLD players tanking again, their “showcase” generated more negative skepticism than anything else.

Everything will need to change and thats the worrying part. Time will tell but Blizzards track record is garbage.

even if the ow team miraculously gets 5v5 right and somehow nails every single nerf, rework, and new hero they will just botch it again by adding whatever random heroes and creep they feel like down the road

devs still can’t even be bothered to nerf burst damage and healing in the current game

as much as i dont appreciate them not even paying attention to OW1 balance as much right now since we dont have OW2 in our hands, i can see something like this happening.

I just wish that they would at least pay a bit of attention to OW1 balance rn and implement the same or similar balance path theyre taking on OW2 into OW1 as well…

Of course it looks better, did you see how quickly tanks died in that PVP showcase? Almost as if having one tank taking all that damage instead of two without changing them accordingly will make them weak.

Do you mostly play DPS?

I know this may seem a little odd, I think OW2 would of had a better reception if they made the maps slightly bigger and made it a 7 vs 7. 2-3-2.

You could also introduce more game modes like control where you get a tick for each second and have 2 control points at the same time. It would work with a 7 vs 7 not with a 5 vs 5.
