So far, ever since that number 2 came out next to Overwatch name this has become just another arena shooter… Blizz wanted to, by my opinion, speed up a game by removing one tank, lately adding passive heals and some buffs that only helps supports and leave them to do more dmg and less heals. So i suggest that Blizz remove all the classes and put them into one dmg grp so we can play one more game like CS or Valorant is now.
Blizzard has actually doubled down in some ways on the OW experience. They didn’t reduce the TTK. They actually increased it with +50 hp to nearly every hero.
+50hp is a pretty damn effective way to increase TTK by at least +1 hit per hero and in many cases multiple hits.
What Blizzard has really cut back on is the average length of a team fight I’d say. Instead of a team fight lasting possibly forever, damage further out weighs healing (which DPS has always outweigh’d healing) and so every fight generally ends much sooner than it did before.
Tanks midseason are arguably going to be much tankier with armor being far more effective on most of the cast and reduced headshot reducing their burst against tanks. Which all goes to show that tanks can now sustain in fights even longer than before with healing.
This game is not trying, nor has it ever tried, to be CS or Valorant. They removed a tank to address a queue time issue (as well as break tank synergies, destroy death all style, and multiple other reasons).
If anything the TTK is significantly longer than OW1 and the gameplay is more akin to Quake or Unreal which I have always found to be a more fun genre in the FPS sphere.
