Hey all, so ive been having fps issues with this game and i cant figure out why, It seems no matter my graphics settings, (set to ultra for now) it never dips below 70 but never goes higher than 100-105 fps. ive reinstalled the game, enabled oc mode for my gpu and i have ran benchmarks on more demanding games and i have gotten higher framerates. i also have the framecap set all the way to 600 and my resolution set to 1920x1080 144hz.
My friend is having a very similar issue, his PC is essentially capped at 30fps or so because for some reason his CPU and GPU utilization are really low (i think around 30% or so, and the temps are low). All other games run fine and this has been happening for maybe a month. He has updated his drivers, his settings are all the same as mine, which our pcs are essentially the same and I get about 200fps. His utilization sometimes spikes to 80% with over 200fps but then it goes back down. He has deleted and reinstalled the game to no avail. he doesn’t want to update his bios because he doesn’t have flash bios or whatever. He has better ram than me although i dont think he has checked the speed yet. Overall it seems like a game bug or something just in this game becuase it doesnt happen on any other game. I once had the same issue on Minecraft except that I had really high CPU utilization. I fixed it by reinstalling the game, but that didn’t work for him. All out of ideas
Do not see? This game is only optimized for Nvidia rtx series with AI because that was the easier way to earn more money blizzard not take in consider all their customers
It’s a dumpster fire. Seems like you need a 2000€ PC to get rid of random frame drops in OW2.
Elden Ring, God of War, F1 2022, TLOU II, Cyberpunk… All of them running like a charm and you’re telling me I’m struggling with this game?
It’s not on our end. I can’t stress this enough.
Technical support agents are nowhere to be seen by the way. This confirms they already know there’s nothing they can do to help us. Game’s on Early Access after all… (but the shop is fully functional since day one. They have their priorities in order).
I only have a AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (stock), GTX 1650 Super (stock) with 16GB of 3600MHz Ram. Performance is better then OW1 and the game is more responsive to boot.
I don’t doubt the game has issues but a lot of the issues discovered so far are interoperability issues with other software on the end users PC.
Maybe they simply don’t know. Dxdiags don’t list every piece of software installed on a given PC.
so after a couple weeks of troubleshooting, i have found that completely resetting your drivers could be a viable fix. using something like ddu or amd cleanup utility tool can remove problematic drivers and a fresh install of your drivers can fix frame rate issues.
