OW2 far behind the competition on Twitch

Fortnite 121K viewers
Valorant 80K
COD Warzone 69K
Counter Strike 64K
Apex Legends 37K
Escape from Tarkov 20K
PUBG Battlegrounds 19K
OW2 17K

These are the real OW2 killers.

Only time OW2 catches up is when esports, Twitch drops and new patch comes.

I dont see 20k or 19k as all that different from 17k

Certainly not “far behind” as the thread title claims

You have a good point. 1-3K viewers can be just one streamer.

OW lost all it’s big streamers: Tim, Xqc, Moonmoon, even seagull is done with OW (which makes me sad).

Oh no…not the twitch views!!

The ultimate measure to measure a game’s sucess :triumph:.

Devs want OW2 to be as similar as possible to those listed fps games, that it fails to get enough viewers. Maybe devs will learn something after seeing this how to treat there own game.

The number looks small and disappointing, but I think OW already gathered most of the players they targeted. The problem is just the target audience itself is somehow minority. Also, OW is miles away from those listed fps and tiny bit changes won’t make them alike. That’s why the devs try to attract other FPS players from time to time and always failed hard lmao

If the views drop much lower, you will have to, uhm, well, i mean if they drop much lower you wont be allowed to, uhm, hold on a sec, i mean, you will be forced to…err…ill get back to you later on this

Thanks for the comment because it really has proven why OW1 was great during it’s first few years. It was unique and nothing like most popular fps games back then unlike now.

Those same fps players which come from games like Valorant and Apex have little patience and they demand that game has constant changes as well heroes feeling like ordinary agents. In doing so OW losses it’s identity bit by bit and the player retention is lower and lower until game losses everything altogether.

Ironically, OG OW was rather a mistake from the devs imo. It was … half baked(from the PoV of the devs) and too liberal and thus those traditional FPS players could also play and enjoy it as a new FPS and that was the reason of the unintentional success.

The devs then changed the game for the minority more and more, the game more and more becomes a pseudo FPS, those fps players left the game and only those minority remains.

6v6 is the only thing that can inject excitement back into Overwatch. They have tried everything else.

Honestly kinda stoked to see Valorant in second. I played it last night for the first time in a few weeks and had a blast. It’s fun once you learn the maps and gun mechanics (imo). The vandal is honestly my favorite gun out of all the shooters I’ve ever played. It just feels and sounds so right.

Am I weird for just playing a game because it’s fun, not because everyone else is playing it?

What even is the point of this thread?

Do you really have to post about twitch views like every single week :skull:
