Usually when I quit playing OW2 and I “Exit” back to my desktop, I notice my CPU fan is running fast, even minutes after quitting. I check my Task Manager and I see that OW2 is running in the background but theres no window open. What causes this? I do have my video display set to “Borderless Window”. Could that be part of the issue?
Are you using a NVIDIA or AMD GPU?
AMD video card, RX 6500 XT.
I have the same problem. The only workaround I’ve found so far, is going into the task manager and shutting down the (nine instances of) Battlenet launcher.
Huh, interesting. I have my launcher setting it closes during launching. We seem to have opposite but similar issues ![]()
Yes, it started happening after the recent patch. The problem is that right on that day, during patching time, I switched out my GPU – also AMD – and updated the drivers, so it could be the patch, or the driver issue, or a combination of both.
OW is getting angy when you quit! It want to blow up your PC!
OW is like those clingy, hugable GFs that just cant say goodbye! ![]()
If you’re proficient with cmd you can quickly Windows + R, “cmd”, then type “taskkill /f /im Overwatch.exe”
Eh, im not too good at cmd.
I did a test today, and OW2 did actually close after about 3-4mins. Perhaps I just need to be more patient ![]()
