Overwatch 2 crashes constantly with the error “The application encountered an unexpected error” and another long error code. I can’t play properly since the day of release, please help.
What I was doing:
reinstalled the game
reinstalled battle.net , deleted the cache battle.net
restored files
updated a lot of drivers
wrote a startup command --tank_Worker Thread Count 2,4
My pc specs:
rx 580 8gb
16 gb ram
i5 8400
If you try to play the game right now, you’ll just end up suspended suspended suspended banned.
It crashes at least once every 30 minutes or less. I’ve gotten back to back crashes within 3 minutes of each other. It’s unplayable.
Never dealt with this before now. The game is literally unplayable.
Also, have gotten similar crashes in Diablo III. Only affecting Blizzard games on my system. I can play ESO, GW2, Destiny 2, etc. for hours and they never crash.
Specs:
R7 5800X
64GB DDR4-3600MHz RAM (All Same Part)
RTX 3070 Ti
Everything up to date.
Laptop crashes just as much:
R8 4900HS
RTX 2060 Max-Q
24GB DDR4-3200 MHz RAM
Game on NVMe storage in both machines.
At the moment, Competitive is untouchable, and I’ve already gotten the leaver warning from playing Quick Play, and it’s ALL from application crashes.
same. i log back in to play for about 3 minutes before i have to close the game and restart all while submitting crash report after crash report.
on top of random crashing, if i swap chat channels it crashes, if i unmute my voice chat toggle it crashes, if i try to endorse it crashes, if i dont swap chat channels but try to type it crashes when i hit enter. I can literally be spectating (happens every 3 minutes after i relog into the game) and it will crash for absolutely 0 reason.
this started happening 2 nights ago after that maintenance fix or w.e.
my negative 75% xp countdown just went from 12 matches remaining to 14
Yea, I actually reported the crashes a few days ago, but I was actually holding out for an GPU driver update to see if that would fix it.
There was one last night, and it’s still crashing.
anyone ever found a fix for this? i’ve tried every available solutions in google and youtube but to no avail.
also tried to contact blizzard support but it’s been days and still no response from them.
also gave the whole dxdiag and the screenshots and stuff they asked, and still no response from the blizzard support team
Anyone find a fix, because I’m dealing with this and getting suspended.
I also have been experiencing multiple crashes until Im suspended from games. What is going on with Blizzard and Overwatch?
Nvidia driver 516.94 updated to 526.98. still no difference
Rig: 5800x with RTX 3080

I also have a 5800x and 3080 and experience the same error although I’m sure it’s coincidence. I’ve tried various Nvidia drivers and uninstalled old drivers with DDU but no luck still.
I am having the same problem.
Is there going to be a fixed for this? The game is quite unplayable. Crashing every ~5 minutes!!!
