OW2 beta choices sus

So, friends who literally NEVER play Overwatch have been ‘selected’ for the Beta. Me, over here playing almost every day, not selected.
Blizzard has really let me down here. They are just trying to use this closed beta as a way to get people back into the game.

They think they have me in the bag. They don’t need to do anything special to make me want to buy Overwatch 2.
They are wrong. I am so mad about this, I will definitely never buy Overwatch 2.
My whole friend list is full of people who don’t even own Overwatch (Btagg friends who play WoW) playing in the closed Beta. WTF. This is so unfair.
They are totally cutting out the people who were really excited for this.

How many people are in the closed Beta who have been playing regularly?

I’m confused, were you not around yesterday?

what happened yesterday? I guess not… but I play on a regular weekly basis, almost daily.
and i ‘opted in’ over a week ago, or whenever they sent that email.

The whole thing about watching streams via Twitch for guaranteed access to the beta? Sure it was somewhat of a debacle in itself, but I think at this point, most of the people who got the beta key drops are playing the beta.

yeah, well, I guess I missed that. I had no idea that was going on.

Not everyone that plays video games, watch or care about watching other people play video games or Twitch, for that matter. It’s kinda weird Blizzard seems to think all their players care about or use that platform.

I saw it through the forums and through a bunch of content creators on youtube. Wasn’t sure where else it was advertised.

If account sharing isn’t against the rules I will gladly give mine to let you play. I got bored in less than 1 hour, dude believe me you’re not missing anything.

ow2=ow1 but 5v5

then please, contact support and see if you can pass your beta access to me. I would greatly appreciate it.

Again this is against the rules, but isn’t the drop thing still avaible if you watch some streamer for 4 h?

It was only available on the 27th between 10 am and 6 pm PST. At least for this beta, apparently the next chance will be during the OWL.

not talking about account sharing, ask support to transfer your beta access, or relinquish it for someone else to claim.

Next chance:

Also, some of us find the Beta underwhelming/a little off.

Beta licenses cannot be transferred and any attempt at account sharing risks suspension of that account.

right, but now that just makes it even more sus.
I signed up like I was supposed to and patiently waited for an email. I did not get one.

Now I’m wondering if it’s just a marketing ploy to get people to watch overwatch content in exchange for beta access…

There is still a way to get to the Beta, by watching OWL opening week-end. Bit it’s not guaranteed either

surely not a marketing ploy, SURELY

down, boy.
We know. Blizzard extremely ban hammer happy. we get it.

AT NO POINT IN TIME WERE WE TRYING TO SHARE ACCOUNTS.

I hear you and you’re not the first complaint like this I saw on the forums. I thought that would work for me, too (I have 3k hrs in the game across 2 accounts, one diamond level). Blizzard does this thing where they tell us little-to-nothing, then bait and switch, and expect us to be astounded/so happy with the crumbs they’re tossing. It’s kind of messed up.

Undoubtedly that feels like a gamble they took. As others on the forums have said, it’s a short-term gain. I feel like they keep poisoning the well, making excuses for it, and bank on playerbase goodwill/short memories. It’s pretty unfortunate.

Also probably not a great choice of words to be rude to officialish community forum members. I hardly agree with everything Myst says but he tries very hard to help people and there’s no need to be rude.
