Hey has anyone seen, or heard of anyone working on any private servers for OW1? It was my favourite game for a long time so I came to OW2 thinking it was just a sequel. It’s clear now this is a cheap knockoff of the old game with no balancing, and little to no effort put out by the company. I know this is activisions fault, being that they ruined all of blizzards games. I just really miss Overwatch and would appreciate playing the real thing again.

I wish they had kept the old game running for us OG folk. You’re right, Overwatch 2 feels like a cheap knock-off. 5v5 is awful and the matchmaking is plain broken right now. Last I was on I lost 7 matches in a row due to my team giving up after the first fight. 4 of those matches at least one team mate left after the first round. Honestly I’ve given up on it at this point. I tried my best to like OW1 but FTP has ruined it.

Would def be playing OW1 if it were available for Ranked.
OW2 just isn’t going to get the job done, everyone can see where this product is going.

no OW server at moment… but i hope Blizzless team is working on it
There is a group of people working on it, but I doubt it will ever scale to more than a buggy unstable server able to host a few pickup games.

Blizzard would send them a C&D order in minutes if someone did build an OW1 server. There is no way in hell theyd allow it.
In theory they could get away with it by hosting it in a country that doesnt honor US copyright laws. Blizz could still ask them to stop but would have no authority to make them do it
It would be difficult to actually pull this off well enough to make it worth playing though. Not impossible, but maybe more trouble than its worth
