OW1 originally launched at $40, now beta access is $40

This is a test from Blizzard to see how many people they can scam out of $40 for literally nothing. If enough people pay for it then you better believe they are going to get even greedier real quick.

It’s really sad that there are enough corporate slaves out there who have no self respect and will gladly let these corporations milk them dry and ruin games for everyone else.

So the first battle pass, 2 skins, OW legendary edition, instant beta access and 2000 virtual currency is nothing?

Look I don’t blame people who don’t want to spend money on the bundle, but it certainly isn’t nothing.

You don’t have to pay $40 for beta access and you don’t have to pay $40 to play OW2 PvP on Oct 4.

The only reason people might feel the need to spend any money, is for their favorite heroes to get a new change of clothes or for other cosmetics, which do not affect gameplay.
And even some cosmetics may still be able to be obtained in other ways that don’t include spending money.

LOL

There, I fixed that for you.

Yes, it’s nothing. Everyone who wants OW1 already owns it. The servers go offline forever in 3 months. Why would anyone buy a game that won’t exist in 3 months?

Skins used to be obtainable for free. Now you’re being forced to spend real money if you want them.

I am hoping most people won’t fall for it but it will be very tempting for the console players at least.
Blizzard can’t even bother to clarify what is the value of the 2000 credits yet.
If they don’t care, why should we?

…beta access is free.

Yeah it will be free… because there won’t be even enough people to keep the servers full.

Literally nothing? Even using a conservative estimate, a battle pass, 2 legendary skins, and 2000 in virtual currency is worth almost $60.

Remember when cosmetics were free through loot boxes by simply playing the game? Now you’re paying $40 for a couple skins. Blizzard employees are sitting back laughing as corporate slaves shill for them and line their pockets.

Corporate slaves? You’ll still be able to earn virtual currency and unlock these skins when the game is released. Buying a battle pass, 2 legendary skins, and 2000 virtual currency is probably going to cost AT LEAST $57 when the game is released.

Remember when OW1 one died because no significant revenue was coming in anymore.

This is a legit question, how long did you expect to get free content for OW1, for the $40 you paid for 6 years ago?
I want to know a specific number of years, decades, or however longer you expected for this to keep going on while also having a fully staffed team of developers on the payroll, pumping out continuous high quality content.

Try to answer that question without ignoring it.

In this hyperinflation environment, most people should be able to scrap up $40 in 1-2 hours.

No it isnt, reasonable battle pass - 5 dollars. Skins - should be obtainable via currency earned by playing the game or purchasable for a maximum of 5 dollars each. beta access - is already free, maybe 10 dollars to get early access. currency, should be at most 10 dollars. as I am typing this I am realizing this is probably worth almost 40 collars, throw in 3 months of access to ow1 for someone who doesn’t have it and it perfectly evens out at 40 dollars.

It’s already free. Everyone who signs up is guaranteed access by July 7 (I believe) at the latest. You might only get 1 week of beta but everyone who signs up will get in eventually. The only thing the bundles guarantee is immediate access.

You’ll still be able to grind virtual currency to get these skins when OW2 is released, though. For $40 now, you’re getting cosmetics that will probably cost around $57 later this fall.

Yeah can we stop with the dishonest takes to spin things around to find something negative that isnt there? It gets weird when people are just throwing Debbie Downer takes just for no reason. Im pretty sure some people will still throw hate even if they released 9 heroes instead of 3 …

… oh welp, I guess I was too late posting

I don’t remember because the game isn’t dead. Just because it isn’t as popular as Fortnite and Apex doesn’t make it a dead game. It’s sad how some of you are so insecure that you think something is dead if it isn’t the most popular game in the world.

Some of you guys must be very new to gaming. 3 years of new heroes and maps for a $40 game was excellent support.

What I wanted was a true paid sequel. I don’t need to play the same exact video game forever like you seem to want to.

If lara had 1$ every time they posted something negative they’ll own 30413$

So you were willing to pay another full retail price for OW2.
Yet you were complaining for a cosmetic pack that cost $40 which you do not have to buy to play the beta and you do not have to buy to play OW2 PvP.
