This is not enjoyable at all, I think most matches at least I’ve been playing have a turret character. How does the community feel about this?
I think the next hero should have a turret that shoots smaller turrets.
On a serious note, I think theres bigger balance issues at the moment than turrets.
We just need a tank that deploys sym’s old shield generator.
Yeah I agree there def is. I’m just so upset with the direction the character design is going
Im ok with turrets being strong, I don’t like it when turrets have a ton of health. In terms of the recent illari change, its honestly a slap on the wrist. Ive been saved so many times by it in comp and all because the illari on my team had insanely good turret placement. Any form of healing is going to be good in this game, healing negates break points unless its burst damage. Heroes like soldier, sojourn, sym will have a harder time dealing with another player under the influence of the turret.
And Junkrat’s sonorous voice heralding its discovery…
Unless you’re completely clown level bad I don’t see turrets as a problem. Stationary objects that can be killed are not hard to deal with.
This is not CoD. It’s a game where it’s identity is based off the uniqueness of hero variety. Homogenization is boring.
I hope going forward we get new characters that have pets as well, Similar to Rexxar from Heroes of the Storm.
Nahh the design is what I’m talking about, its just getting redundant at this point. I don’t mind turrets but not for every character tbh. But I’m hoping the next hero is a little more interesting. Its becoming over saturated with turrets imo
Wasn’t the last “turret” that was added immortality field? That was back in 2019. The devs aren’t suddenly going to give every other hero a turret
The only turrets in the game are Sym, Torb, Illari, and arguably Ashe with Bob and Bap with Lamp. That’s 5 out of 38
Theres literally only 3 characters with legitimate turrets.
Sym, torb, illari.
wtf is the problem with this community and their inability to shoot something else for once that isnt an enemy player
I’m saying its redundant, we all know you have to shoot a turret lol
I’m fine with that, thanks for asking.
Doesn’t COD have turrets?
There is Ashe, also.
But Symmetra and Torbjorn are launch-2016 heroes. They’ve been there from the very beginning.
Since the launch of Overwatch 1, only 2 heroes with turrets have been added to the game. Of those two, only one of those turrets is used offensively and it’s an Ultimate.
Sigma but his is better
LOL
i think torb turret is fine even when it’s annoying to get picked by it randomly
the problem i have is with sym’s turret. despite it’s limited range, it is unimaginably powerful when clustered together on a choke point, thankfully they cant be repaired, have a low health(usually 1 or 2 shot), and decently long cooldown
illari has a turret? or are you just talking about the healing deployable beam thing
It was very interesting that they have toned down turrets through the long history of reworks/patches, and now a new hero with turrets, and the latest patch also toned down her turret. lmao
Idk these days. I haven’t played CoD since like 2002. I’m just throwing out an example of your run of the mill FPS
Its annoying cause the game was built around counter picking and the solution to high mobility, small hitbox heroes was turrets, explosives, and cone-based attacks (i.e. winston, moira like characters). These characters will never be removed.
With the new ping system its a lot less annoying as it was in OW1, back when you had to either speak in MC or type in chat to notify your team that the turret hasn’t broken in the 10 failed attempts at pushing point.
Auto-aim mechanics like turrets is just peak laziness in my opinion and ruins the fun in most games. One player sweats their heart out while another sits in the corner, eating food at their desk while their turret gets a team kill.
The biggest issue with Illari turret is that it heals the lowest HP target all the time, which means it always tries its best to cancel deaths.
Not saying that it’s OP or too broken, but it’s the first ability that automatically cancels deaths.
