OW has become very privacy intrusive

catch you saying you were T500 when you were asked if you were high rank, due to your takes on high rank play.

Instead of saying: “no, but I’ve seen high rank play” etc, you just went and said you were in fact t500, but it was all just smoke and mirrors as it was just about a moment where players hadn’t done placements yet, so it was … like a low plat match if I recall well?

Then they caught you on a bronze match and the house of cards crumbled.

That’s all there is: now you have no reputation here.

I think Lara was ranked high way back in the day, I saw a screenshot she posted a while back

Just like in some platforms or game modes top 500 starts in diamond

I have been top 500 when there was no rank restriction for top 500.
My highest sr is 2700 or something.

by stigma you are referring to the fact that people listen to people who are better than others at stuff, right? this is how it works in every other community too!

I definitely agree with you on this one. Again, just a general statement that generally applies, certainly not a rule though. There are plenty of high(er) elo players that don’t have a clue.

Not necessarily. The OW community seems obsessed with numbers.

You cannot be t500 without being at least diamond. No t500 leaderboard has anyone listed below 3000.

That was before the leaderboards.

Was plat. I’m not shaming, I was plat when the game begun to (literally the starting rank for like 4/10 games won on s2). But it’s undeniable that once people catch you you’re gonna lose rep.

? What do you mean before leaderboards. They have been here since season 1.

That limit was added later. it was even in the patch notes when the released it (more like forum post since there was no patch notes back then either)

I don’t recall this. But maybe I’m wrong.

I would just avoid labelling myself as top 500 even if you are technically correct, considering a lot of people only consider “the real top 500” to be standard RQ

LOL I am a beginner CS student, why wouldn’t I go talk to people who have been doing CS for years and are way better than me if I wanted to learn? Whatever you are spewing makes no sense.

Same reason i typically keep mine private.

They used to call me a silver. I climbed to masters and now people just say “well actually _____ is his 4th most played hero so clearly he’s biased against role queue”

Even if you were top 500 way back then you aren’t near it now, so you don’t fully understand everything that goes on there. I think you expressing your take on balance is good, but don’t try to talk about things out of your scope. You can talk about low elo balance all you want.

Or maybe call yourself a “former top 500 but currently x rank player” lol

I just call myself a causal merci mein

How many of the top 500 are still top 500 or still at their highest rank?

Well, using t500 at all would be misleading with mid plat peak. Especially since it must have been in some random arcade comp mode if the 3k limit didn’t exist at the time. And there were less than 500 people above mid plat.

The lowest former t500 players I’ve seen are diamond. Those are the players that stopped playing years ago and just came back. Most everyone that has been t500 is still masters+, so they understand high level balance.
