Going months with sojourn getting small slaps on the wrist and in some cases, buffs that more than made up for the nerfs
Talking about how snipers may be a problem with the removal of shields and second tanks, then buffing widow back to 200 health, adding a partial sniper (sojourn) and doing nothing to account for their increased power level. In fact, their chosen map pool is extremely sniper friendly, exacerbating the situation.
Buffing tanks so that they are now the equivalent of 1.5-2 characters, yet counting them equally when determining mmr matches.
Giving tanks strong damage, with the reasoning being that they need it to “taunt” enemy attention away from other teammates such as supports, only to have tanks themselves focus those other teammates, making those focused players feel even more helpless.
Removing cc while at the same time buffing mobility through new heroes such as sojourn, jq, and kiriko
Adding a cleanse to the game that invalidates a good number of ultimates and abilities.
When supports complained about being focused, Blizzard answered by giving them more damage, making some supports deadlier than some of the dps heroes.
Creating new heroes that have almost no weaknesses. Cassidy pays for his decent primary fire with low mobility, what exactly is Sojourn’s weakness? Kiriko feels like a character that was designed by going through a checklist of potential weaknesses and making sure that she doesn’t have any of them.
Broken patching system on a game that obviously needed quicker patches, given that this is practically an early access version of this game.

They’re now starting to correct some of the above issues, but its been many months since release. They’ve probably lost a good chunk of players that they would have otherwise retained. To this day, games even in platinum are incredibly frustrating as good widows and sojourns can absolutely dominate games.
You can look at my post history going back to around launch and see me complain about a bunch of the issues that the community is outraged about. I’m no genious and the fact that a lowly plat player can anticipate some of these issues more than these devs is why many say they don’t know what they are doing.
I have definitely seen dev teams fail so hard, all the time.
Video game developers are not interested in making a good game, I mean, that’s obvious, right? What they do is make a game that is designed to keep you playing. That’s the goal, and pretty much everyone here is still playing this game so they’ve done very well at that.
This goes on in all games. I think the problem is people think devs are interested in making a good game, but you see that’s actually hard, or harder…than making a game where you buy stuff and are addicted to keep on playing. While it may be true people will play good games a lot, they’ll also play pretty bad games a lot, and it’s less effort. also, those people will buy things like skins that cost the price of an entire other video game, but they won’t buy that other video game because they’re locked into some battle pass.
I mean, this isn’t news to anyone here, right? I’m just repeating it for emphasis.

they refused to nerf genji, and tracers power to reasonable range, and instead threw in a character to invalidate their existence, then nerfed that character into the crap bucket
so… instead of nerfing ana’s nade they throw in a character that invalidates her existence… and in a couple months will nerf her into the crap bucket…
those who cannot learn from the past, are doomed to repeat it
and it all boils down to blizzard being children who are entirely incapable of saying “Our bad… we Screwed up… we will change it… sorry”
I love how people on this forum who have a problem with something manage to say so much yet so little. You typed out an entire paragraph just to not even highlight a single example of what they did wrong.
You see the mistake you made was saying you were hopeful, in an echo chamber for hostility. There’s people saying they’re appreciative of the increased coms, feel more hopeful for the game and what happens? They get called a bootlicker or a shill.
Being hopeful around here is expressly forbidden.
But yeah I’m also hopeful, especially with the fact that work on the matchmaking has already started.
They introduced 5v5 to kill Double barrier, and at the same time reworked one of two problematic tanks, nerfed shields to the ground and introduced a tank that counters both barriers and high sustain comps aka GOATs. Other than their usual “favoritism” in balancing, it is the best example.
They are the first devs i see that make a supposed second version of software that only has features removed or worsened and nothing added. It is amazing really
Yup, kinda. More of a Business Analyst.
But I do use programming for work.
I also wrote a tournament grade server modification for TRIBES 1 called Shifter_v1g, and an installer for PlanetSide 1 that got about 30,000 downloads and had a ton of registry fixes, that their devs later copied.
Overload of really really bad players atm…how does game put all the good players on one team?? and ALL the bad players on the other.
I can just tell by watching them, how they move how they stand in middle of road taking nades to the face.
