the more i play ow classic, the more i feel the ow2 reworks were completely unnecessary
in a way, the ow2 reworks gave these heroes TOO much in their kits that removed their weaknesses, making them much more boring to play and less unique design wise
there are only two heroes who i believe play better in ow2, that being rein and winston
ive always thought this but i am even more convinced that ow classic needs to stay as a permanent mode

ow2 reworks and s9 changes were terrible.
Embarrassing that a 5 year old version of the game is better than live.

That ship has sailed since the release of Ana. OG OWC heroes always had a design of “doing one thing good and maybe a secondary utility”. It was much more strategic, each hero had a niche. But then it was kicked off with a hero that was too good at almost everything. So to match it with new releases, they had to give more and more abilities to everyone.
Just look at how everyone now has full set of abilities and the LMB + RMB and sometimes even with different contextual functions. On top of that everyone now has a passive - albeit a generic one. This wasn’t the case at OW1 release. Things were … simpler and there were fewer moving parts. It was possible to grasp and by extension - balance easier.

I’m the opposite. I do not miss orisa barriers, I certainly don’t miss bastion just either being useless, or being cheesey with barriers. Not saying it’s OP, just crappy gameplay and much prefer playing as, and against their reworks. For doom I hate him either way.
I will agree they were more unique, but imo that doesn’t make it a good thing.
