I, for one, am not too keen on the new hero design. It’s very out of place in Overwatch universe. If you showed me that picture not knowingly what it was, i’d say that he is the new Paladins champion. Maybe it was just a glance but the design philosophy is very similar to Paladins in many ways (the traditional outfit, the corny petal-ornament on his back, and the long elf-looking hair).
Sigh.
Looking back at all the futuristic cyberpunk-esque hero design from the TITAN concept art, Overwatch has lost its identity.
Heck, even Mama Hong is more Overwatch-looking than this hero.

But at least Paladins is still consistent in its own lore.
Overwatch is just shameful.

You know the things are bad when the original is copying the clone.
Next hero will probably be a furry.

Wasn’t Switzerland always known for its neutrality?

BAHAHAHAHA. There’s the realm of angels (pyre), humans or mortals, and devils (abyss). Pyre protects mortals from abyss who just wants power. Mortals struggling over resources. Out of nowhere random ghost girl that fits absolutely nothing.

he uses the same tech as sym, which means they’re prolly in the same company which would sorta make him slightly evil, ontop of that his appearance is based on a lotus clearly which in thai culture is a symbol of purity, faithfulness, and spiritual awakening character fits fine into ow which typically uses stereotypes to create heros

Can we have a thai stereotype then instead of Elvis Presley?

Yeah,OW are better suits those Hi-Tech design.
Paladins are always good on those fairy tales.

I get that they want to add thai culture into his design, but this one is a HUGE miss. Kiriko, Sym, and Hanzo is the perfect example of mixing traditional clothes with Overwatch design philosophy.

I mean, I have mixed feeling towards the design (I like the direction but not so much execution), but the whole “doesn’t look like an Overwatch hero” has been said many times before.
Remember Moira? Wreaking Ball? No one questions them anymore.

Yea, design is pretty stupid-looking. Also think the only people playing the hero are going to be streamers and a very specific crowd of people. Pro players also if he turns out to be meta (which all new heroes have been at some point).

Right again, design are out.i can really design better than that.
Well, there’s only so much to see from a screenshot, maybe he’ll get better in the gameplay video.
You’ve only seen one picture though. You need to see the hero in action, the way his animations are, his voice acting/dialogue etc… to really determine if he’s out of place in Overwatch or not.
There’s been a few times where I thought a character was out of place just from seeing one picture, then I change my mind when I see them in action.
I was always more of a Li Long fan. Maxi just looks awful.

there’s a article with a picture of him and sym standing next to each other the guy is massive, they also dress pretty much the same the only difference is that he takes the lotus buddha added onto his professional look where sym is more uptight and doesn’t adorn herself
