Tried all of the things then just reinstalled my Nvidia drivers. Worked instantly as well.

I just closed out of all possible programs, razor suite you mentioned were on that list.

Maybe it’s a Razor issue?

Guessing it might vary person to person. I myself don’t have anything Razor related. What did it for me was closing out Xbox Game Bar.

Now I’m just stuck in a queue like everyone else, only without the persistent “Bad Image” errors.

I don’t want to say it’s going to be every ones fix, but this did it for me too.

Uninstalling EVGA Precision XOC and restarting worked for me as well.

definitely a wider issue/bug. Lots of people here having various DLLs but the same error message. Mine is happening w/ some Audinate/Dante drivers, which is some networking audio software. Pretty annoying as it keeps popping up and I have to keep clicking OK and alt tabbing back to the game.

edit: was able to stop the error - I had to disable any dante WDM devices, reset my soundcard WDM I/O devices as default, and then end any dante/audinate processes still running in task manager and it stopped the error. Unlucky if you rely on using DVS or Via as your WDM devices I guess - never caused a problem in OW1.

Same Error here. Trying to update windows now…

This right here… I uninstall EVGA Precision XOC (similar to msi after burner) and the pop up is gone. Thank you again

i fixed my ‘bad image’ error by re-enabling CryptSvc, if youre an idiot like me messing with system stuff, try that

=================

(next day edit) STILL got the bad image error!! was able to bypass it by force-restarting cryptsvc and other windows processes (bits, msiserver, wuauserv, usosvc, waasmedicsvc… idk what helped and what didnt…) but this is just getting weird… hope i dont have to fight the error EVERY day i want to play!

It’s happening with my Audinate/Dante driver too. Really not sure how it’s even related…

same here with Audinate/Dante drivers. It’s such a general audio protocol these days that just about anything could be blocking overwatch.

Thank you man I deleted XOC and installed X1 and no more pop up thank you!

worked for me, thank you!

Uninstall any proxy services. I had to to uninstall ProxyCap in order to make my game work.

From someone who has tried everything above just want to give you quick info on how I resolved the issue on my end.

It was windows updates in the end. Basically, for some reason my Windows Update service was not working and it required a registry fix, then getting up to date eventually resolved the issue I had with Overwatch 2 and the bad image notice. So keep an eye on that if nothing else works.

how did you do that?

I have windows 11 insider preview and Microsoft in July stopped updating me windows, there is an option to switch to regular windows but all data will be deleted, I would not like to, tell me what to do

here is the specific guide I used as I was completely missing the windows update service somehow (also insider preview so prob a common screwup):

*have to copy as links not allowed but you can also google “windows update service missing” and click on the article from wintips dot org

a. Simultaneously press the Windows + R
b. Type regedit and press Enter.

At the left pane, navigate to the following registry location and expand the “Services” key:

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services 4. Under the "Services" key, if you see the “wuauserv” registry key: *

a. Right click on it and select Export to backup the key for safety reasons. *

Save the Key to your Desktop with name “Win10UpdateOld.reg”

Then right click again on the "wuauserv " key and click Delete .

Close the Registry Editor.

Open Notepad

Select and copy/paste to notepad the below text (after and before the line breaks):
