Thank you for proving my point
You are not a team player if you consider it someone else job.
You are also a support, not a “healer” so you are ignoring half of your kit.
Seriously LMAO

Healing and staying alive is what you need to win defense matches. Once you have taken a control point or say are on a payload defense, your goal is to stall the timer. Your mindset here is perfect for those situations. You don’t have to kill the enemy team to stall the point. You can win games, but it turns into which team has the highest overall sustain.
Which is not exactly trying to take matters into our own hands to help shift the balance. When its your turn to attack, you need to physically remove the enemy team from the point. Which is only possible through overwhelming fire power or make them scared to get on (Which is purely a numbers game and you will generally lose all of the games you lose on numbers) or you kill the enemy team.
Mercy excels at helping to assist in bursting people down through enemy sustain from the damage boost. You are trying to reduce for your allies the number hits needed to land a killing blow. Its why you’ll continually see people claim that Mercy higher up is a damage bst bot. In general, higher up in the ladder is more aggressive support play focused on attack rather than sustain.
They will still maintain a high level of sustain, but they won’t optimize out trying to say hit 11k heal/10min averages or something. You’ll see them drop a portion of healing for higher damage output.
I will never play aggressively, because I would rather not take objective, than die.
And I am accustomed to situations, when teammates can’t win 1v1 with any enemy.
not at all
dying is not throwing
not even remotely like throwing
From the worst matchmaking ever, horrible management, no cheat detection, bad patches that make the game worse and worse. Heroes that gets buff or nerfs here and there. Im so glad I nerfed myself out with this horrible game. OW1 was 120x more enjoyable, fair and even matches almost all the time.
It shouldnt be like this at all no excuse.
Review after 37,592 hours:
Worst game ever, can’t wait to play later
Uninstalled the game this evening as I need a very long, uncontested break from Overwatch.
There’s still so much that needs to be fixed and I’ve run out of patience, and it turns out I’m not alone on that matter.
Frost’s first post is so perfectly accurate. As are all of the posts asking why players like us are even bothering still playing. I’ve been playing since beta which was what? Spring of 2016? I guess we remember when the game was better and can’t let that go? Gaslighting ourselves.
I’ve gotten to the point where I do little experiments just to see how truly awful the game is. I won’t play tank anymore, for reasons already stated above, and I rarely feel like being the healer punching bag.
DPS is supposed to be OP these days, but is it any fun to play? My K/D will consistently be between 12-15 to 1 (and almost always top kill total), but my win rate is similar to Frost’s. And to see just how miserable it is to play, I tracked how many times I got healed in a 6 hour QP role queue session. Ready for it? 4 times. 4. Healers too busy DPSing and expecting DPS to tank for them with no support while the tank also isn’t doing his/her job. And if you asked to get healed you just get reported and banned.
I’m sure that I’ll get ridiculed by a toxic fanbase for finally saying something after all these years, but I’m just tired of it. Maybe it is time to uninstall. It probably was after another player called me racial slurs almost 30 times in one match, and then continued to do so outside the game along with threatening me and worse, and when I reported it, I got banned.
This game is utterly toxic. It is rigged to be as punishing as possible to good, well intentioned players.
aaaaand instead you wrote a wall of text and confirmed that up until now you still played the “worst blizzard game”. disappointed? maybe. coherent? no.
That’s crazy! Winning games in gold is easy and winning games in Master is kinda hard. Now I see the scam.
Weren’t we told multiple times, that “healbotting doesn’t win games”? Since positioning and aiming for healing and hurting are opposites, you either have no damage or no heals.
First link pretty much explains why any scoreboard stats are not considered in MMR
The second explains how MMR actually works.
The game is toxic because people like to complain who have no understanding.
Its a “competitive” game, so your are always going to encounter a “competitor”.
A competitor is always going to give 100% effort, 100% of the time. So if you are not, you are not really competing.
A competitive person also learns EVERYTHING about the game, the higher the knowledge, the higher the level of competition they play in.
Competitive people are always learning new things. Like reading patch notes early.
If someone doesn’t want to put in maximum effort, you will never get peak rank. Your rank is essentially linked to the effort you have put in.
No matchmaker can ever predict when someone wants to be lazy, how could it possibly predict when you feel lazy. So until someone wants to have a high level of learning in the game you will have “throwers”, thus also making you a “thrower” as well by definition.
What are you talking about? OW2 has more cheats playing it at any one time than any other online game period. That is because there are a LOT of free cheats and their anti-cheat is non-existent. Even Space Marine 2 has decent anti-cheat and that’s primarily single player!
The current dev team have absolutely no idea. None. They’re just a caretaker dev team now using prebuilt tools to mod the stats (“balance the game”) which they can’t do well, and recolour skins, then they pay other devs to model the assets. They’re literally just messing around with what the original team built. Most if not all of the decent devs left along with Jeff and Mcree.
The only people who can say that about the game are arrogant and ignorant. Matchmaking is fine, heroes are pretty well balanced (except mercy), artwork is great, maps are well designed.
I’m guessing you are upset people throw your games, meanwhile you are likely throwing plenty of other people’s games.
The only way to get higher ranks is to get better. To get better, you actually need to learn something new.
Consider this, the top person in whatever he does is usually the smartest at what he does. Ranks are the same, so it essentially means ranks are tied to your understanding of the game.
Good, even while it doesn’t help, since you get sweaty enemies even before that.
Knowing, that matchmaking will actively counteract my efforts by putting someone more sweaty on opposite team, motivates me to try as little, as possible, to avoid that.
So the best advise, if you don’t want to sweat. Don’t complain about the matchmaking. Best thing to do when it feels crappy is turn it off that night and play another game.
Matchmakers can’t work effectively under a diamond range and are effectively useless below gold.
But if you do want to get a bit sweaty in game, I can always give you some advice on where to start
I’m only on the forums to try and educate people to help remove some toxicity from the game while I can’t really walk for the moment.
I would complain, because it tries to screw me over by giving me useless teammates, that are physically unable to beat solo enemy, even with my healing beam on them.
It’s idiotic system, that for whatever reason combines better enemies with worse teammates. And expects me to not notice that as well.
Playing with smurfs helps to counteract it a bit, but even smurfs sometimes face their match in form of smurf in opposite team.
Do you realise who useless either mecy beam is currently in the game? Has nothing to do with numbers.
If you are willing to watch someone else’s gameplay (geniounely watch, see both sides all the way through) I can send you a replay code of my last hacked game. My mercy had 1k more heals than me. If you can “honestly” say after “genuinely watching it” that mercy isn’t a throw, instead of drop the hero instantly. You shouldn’t play a competitive game, either that, accept competitive games are probably gonna suck.
I could also send you multiple replay codes of me keeping a mercy on lockdown with soldier. Most are too afraid to even peak around a corner.
It has everything to do with numbers, it’s just not strong enough.
As for competitive games - they always suck anyway. At least in CS2 you actually get rewarded for it.
