Every time I try to launch Overwatch, it says loading, then playing now, and then it doesn’t start. I’ve looked at other things like this, but nothing helps.

I have been experiencing this for the last week also. If you are patient enough ( and I struggle with this) it will eventually start after 5-10 minutes, or at least that has been the case for me. It would be great to get this bug fixed as my gaming time is limited and I tend to play games that I can load and find a match quickly.
The game used to load so much quicker.

The thing is, I can’t be bothered to wait 5 minutes to play a game, and it’s annoying that I spent money on this game and blizzard won’t fix a simple problem.

It’s the same with me. I just came back to the forums to post about the same problem.
Game saved in SSD. All other applications closed except for MSI afterburner and Rivatuner.
Other battlenet games like Blackops and Destiny launches without delay.

I have 2 computers and it won’t launch on either of them after multiple restarts.
Also having this problem - previous threads from a while back talk about Razer SDK causing the problem, but I’ve uninstalled it and it hasn’t fixed the issue.
It loads the overwatch executable, launcher says “now playing” but never actually starts the game.
Edit: The game finally launches after about 10 minutes in the background.

Yeah I actually waited 10 minutes and it started, so i closed it and tried again to make sure it wasn’t a fluke and then it opened instantly, so thanks to you and Antique originally.
I had the same issues but I solve it by myself. It might help!
After clicking ‘Play’, open the task manager, click ‘Details’, find ‘Overwatch.exe’ and click ‘End task’.
Once you’ve done it, the icon of ‘Play’ would be activated again. If you still cannot open it, just follow the steps again, it would work because I tried 3 times and it works.

It’s been about 20 min on my end. Nothing on the task manager. Any other solutions?

Same problem. 10 minutes later it launches. I haven’t tried an uninstall reinstall yet, slow internet.
I am having this too! Except mine won’t launch no matter how long I wait. Tried to clear blizzard app cache, scan and repair game and changed to beta app of blizzard, but nothing is working. sigh

SAME exact issue. i have had it happen a few times in the past few weeks. it seems to fix itself after repair or waiting… as i speak it finally loaded on its own after waiting as suggested as above.

I found the solution, it lies within the Razer implementation into overwatch. I had to uninstall Razer Chroma SDK and Razer Synapse. Upon deleting both these applications and restarting my computer Overwatch opened instantaneously. Hopefully this works for everyone else here, i had synapse 2.0 now moving to the 3.0 beta version. Keep fragging guys.

Same issue here. Don’t have anything Razer installed. Will start after a while (A few minutes) if I’m patient but this never used to be an issue. No issues with any other games either, just Overwatch.
I’m getting this problem. I go to play Overwatch, and it plain won’t load. Battle net application says Overwatch is “Now playing” with the button greyed out. Overwatch executable gets stuck at around 26K loaded into memory. i have nothing Razer related installed. This all started happening this week.
I’ve tried closing and re-opening the Battle net app. I’ve tried closing all other running programs I can close. I’ve tried stopping the Overwatch.exe program and re-trying dozens of times.
And as I’m typing this, approximately 7 minutes later, it finally decides to launch. I did nothing other than wait like these other people did.

Same issue as everyone else. Black Ops works fine, Overwatch takes about 10 minutes to load. Oddly enough, Flux is also affecting it even though it doesn’t affect other fullscreen applications (and this never used to happen, along with the weird loading issue).
