I am making this thread so people can list what they think what weapon classification the firearms in overwatch would fall into, ask me if you have any questions

it is well, have to mow soon, also for those unfamiliar with weapons, they usually fall into these categories, Pistols, Submachine Guns, Assualt Rifles, Sniper Rifles, Light Machine Guns

Not sure what you mean, classification in game? There’s hitscan, projectile, beam, and cleave weapons. Not sure how to classify doom’s rocket punch except maybe his whole body is a projectile.

Sombras is basically an thinner, purple mp7

Guesses for the DPS category

McCree: Revolver (double action)
Pharah: Reoiless rifle (Think Carl Gustav, but smaller)
Reaper: Shotgun
Soldier 76: AR
Sombra & Tracer: Machine pistol
Bastion: both a Gatling gun and a pdw
Hanzo: bow
Junkrat: grenade launcher
Widowmaker: Future DMR (cross between pdw and sniper rifle)

given how pdw are described, thye wouldnt be what both bastion and widow maker has, as they both fire rifle caliber rounds

Genji- Shuriken

Soldier 76- Assault rifle

Roadhog- Shotgun, but weird

Sombra- Machine Pistol like an uzi.
