Overwatch Video Settings Changed! 🔧

A secret change has been made to Overwatch’s video settings and it’s pretty interesting.
Lighting quality used to control the quality of lights, along with adding new lights, but now it only controls the quality of light in Overwatch.
Model Detail now controls the amount of lights in game so to make everything less dark, up model detail.
Tips:
Never use the ‘Reduce Buffering’ feature if you have an NVidia graphics card. Turn it off and go to your NVidia graphics control panel.
Once you are here, under the “3D Settings” Tab, click “Manage 3D settings”.
Now scroll down to you see “Maximum pre-rendered frames” and go to it’s drop down box. Now select 1.
Reduce buffering costs you a lot of FPS, but turns your max pre-rendered frames to 1 to reduce input lag. NVidia has a tool, however, that can do the same thing without the cost of framerate.
If you have an AMD graphics card, well buddy I have no idea if you have a max pre-rendered frames setting, but if you do set it to “1”.
Otherwise, just turn it on.
Also, turning up texture quality and texture filtering won’t cost much if any fps so put them both on medium-max settings. Also play at 100% render scale or lower.
Also, I’m pretty sure ‘Effects Detail’ does not effect things like black holes, gun effects, or anything of the sort. It also wastes a lot of FPS.
Turn the rest of the settings to the lowest setting possible, or off if you can.
Also, copy this link [Delete the spaces] ( https :// imgur . com / gallery / VqMh0 )
and copy his NVidia control panel settings. This guy is professionally known as Galeadelade and has hit #1 NA multiple times on support. The NVidia settings are most important, but if you want to follow the rest of his advice, feel free to do so.
Also, always play on fullscreen if you are on Windows 10, because Windows 10 has a forced VSync and the only way around it is to use VSync.
Please update your graphics drivers too (Especially Nvidia) because they come out so often and optimize your graphics card even more.
Go to Task Manager > Details > Overwatch.exe (Overwatch has to be running for it to appear) and make sure you right click on Overwatch.exe > Set Priority > High.
Don’t do realtime because it causes a lot of audio bugs in Overwatch.
Also, make sure you go into battery settings on your PC and make sure it is on high performance.

I will look into those light settings, didn’t know about that until now. Thanks!

Me either but that was the exact reason I turned lighting quality up. It makes the game look better and I liked a few more lights.
Took me a while to realize they changed it without warning.
Thanks for including the link!
