Overwatch: The end of this game?

Opinion: state of the game?

Sigh, do we really have to write a sad love letter to this game and even hope the devs read this message.

Do we have to ask ourselves do the devs care and its just their bosses that want this game gone?

I would say that history has repeated itself once again. That player feedback is taken in a different context and that we are given the notion that we get “player choice” about picking maps by vote, but somehow someway it gets entirely botched yet again…

So is this really driving away the player base and causing people to leave the game for good?

I mean, me personally. I think this map voting stuff sure has me going and wondering if the original meme from 2013 about blizzard "makes the wheel square and hope it rolls down the road. is just a farce. but something makes me wonder…

thoughts anyone, is this really a good direction for the game, or does it make you just want to all out quit the game since its not about US. Its about their cost cutting while pretending that democracy matters to them…

idk, community. feel free to interject your opinion. Are you just flatout done with this game and have washed your hands of it because of this issue and many other issues that just make a person go “love the game, hate the changes”

Thanks.

The developers do not care as long as people are buying Kiriko and Juno skins.

Mahvel is better. I just need 600 Overwatch coins.

I wonder what the issue with map voting specifically is.

To me: I see the same maps over and over and over again. It is getting stale very quick

yeah idk whats up. t just seams weird…

Not a fan but I wouldn’t quit over it. It’s 30 seconds before every game. Yeah, it’s 30 seconds I would prefer actually playing the game instead, but meh :person_shrugging:

If those 30 seconds make someone quit I’d think they weren’t enjoying the game much anymore anyway. But I’m also a freak who’d be fine with one single map existing.

I wouldn’t say that I’m completely done. But i am taking a break.

Sometimes i wonder if some of the changes are just for sake of change, like perks. Some heros still have meme perks, while others are turned into T-1000 terminators in comparison. And others like sym, while good, have perks that do not offer any interesting changes to play styles and just double down on things she’s already good at.

The end of the game for you. Someone call an ambulance, but not for the game. Map voting killed OP.

endgame is kiriko and juno mains playing with each other

Despite there horrible numerous bad choices for this game I give it up to the devs for still supporting ow after all these years.

My end game is just have fun and earn my currency challenges to get free stuff when a BP has content for my mains.

I got a ton of games chilling in my Steam cart. Gonna go scroll for more in a little bit.

Ow is fun but over the 9 year span a lot of other games come out.

Currently I use it as my warm up game then switch over to Doom for the summer.

I hope the devs improve things but if they don’t I will still have fun in matches with my mains.

Personally I think their map voting system is great. People get to play the more popular maps more often than before, and the less popular ones less often. But they will still all actually see play from time to time, assuming anyone in the lobby wants to vote for certain ones.

It avoids the issue of playing the same maps all the time from majority always win like in other games, and certain maps literally never being played. They implemented the system much better than I originally expected.

Not just yet, but certainly headed that way. Truthfully I don’t really know why I’m still playing, I know the game isn’t going to change for the better, I just can’t shut up that tiny part of my brain that gives me completely unfounded hope that maybe, just maybe, it actually will.

I am still playing because I love getting blamed as Genji/Black Panther because my tanks are afraid of their own shadows. It’s a humbling experience to have everyone hate you because someone else is useless. All the better when you refuse to swap and magically win because the actual problem likely felt bad about everyone ganging up on a sweet and innocent Genji/Black Panther.

Not a fan of map voting, hero bans, raidboss tanks, Tracer 6 damage, Sigma.

Besides that the games good

Black Panther is as buggy as ol school Doomfist. That is the only thing that should be blamed.

But that wall running can’t be beat for the backline pounces.

Good thing I come to this game every now and then just for the adreneline, because if I really cared about winning all the time I’d be capitalizing on all the meta shifts as the game changed.

Wow, I haven’t seen a “The End of Overwatch” board in a while.

I have not been less motivated to play the game than now. I can deal with bad matchmaking and balance to a point, I can deal with the convoluted passives and state increases, I can deal with perks.

I can’t and won’t deal with being prevented from playing certain heroes, and half the map pool.

I have basically not played since hero bans, and now I can’t even just play QP.

Not by a long shot. Although, the hero bans and the map voting has put a serious damper on my enjoyment of the game. Thankfully, I like playing Stadium and it has become a refuge from these two new systems.

This, to a lesser degree.

At this point I don’t think balance/hero design team even tries, there’s always a hero or a few that ruin games because the team tasked with balance have no idea how to balance and it’ll take a very very long time for them to figure it out. Heck they still have done nothing about Sojourn and I expect it won’t happen any time soon, not sure if they even really care
