Overwatch Stuck in Free Trial

I bought Overwatch digitally a couple years ago and would like to play it again. Once I start up the game I get a message reading “Error: Sorry, the Overwatch free trial is not available at this time”. I have never played the Overwatch free trial plus and I have proof I bought this game as I have over seven hundred plus hours into the game. Please help!!!

On your console platform, completely delete the Overwatch Free Trial from your Library, then download the game from your console digital marketplace.

So I uninstalled the Overwatch free trial and when I go to the Xbox store to try and download Overwatch Origins Edition it is only giving to the option to “Install Free Trial”. Please help. Thank you.

That’s going to have to be an issue that you’re going to have to go to Microsoft support on since they control the Xbox marketplace

Its happening to me on overwatch two and i dont know how to fix it i have tried installing a different version through numerous ways but it just says “sorry, the overwatch free trial is not available at this time” please help

I’m also experiencing this. I downloaded a free weekend trail back in 2016. When I installed it and opened the game it was saying my trail had expired. I think it’s a glitch specifically linked to the profile. I’m going to try installing under a back up profile I have to see if it’s playable. If not ima be real sad and it definitely needs to be fixed.

Man, You are a genious, it works for me

CAN CONFIRM!
If you got a free trail on Xbox for Overwatch before you try to install Overwatch 2 you will not be able to play it sadly. The ONLY way for you to be able to play it is installing and playing the game under a different profile. You may need to completely log out your main profile so you’re able to download the Free game and not use the trial.
Hope this saves people a lot of time, unlike me who spent hours waiting for it to download just to be let down lol.

I have figured it out. Here’s what you do to get it to work on your main profile. First you sign out of main Xbox profile. Create secondary profile. Download game on secondary profile. Boot up the game on secondary profile. Then on overwatch 2 title screen press x to bring up users. Click A on name of main profile. This loads up the full game on main xbox live profile. Just mess around with logging in and out of main and secondary profile from the xbox button till the “free trial” text disappears from the game tile of your main account. Enjoy

Im facing the same issue, but its because i had overwatch 1 in disc media when i played it on xbox one and now i have a series s. So i assume the console launches a free trial instead of the game itself when the disc is not inserted. The solution found so far is exactly what the people above said: launch the game while on other profile and then switch to the main profile when the game is already launched. Works well but it shouldn’t be necessary, its obviously a profile linked bug and microsoft should fix that as soon as possible, because i dont feel like having to log in an alternate account just to play a free game.
