On PS5, when I am playing Overwatch, I constantly get disconnected from the game and server entirely. When in-game, I will get get error code “lc-202” in Overwach and on playstation “NP-103771-9 Something went wrong” error.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Even when I boot up the menu; after 5 seconds it will show a red disconnect icon and disconnect me from the server.
I experience no lag at all. Just purely disconnected from servers.
When I play other games, I do not lag or get disconnected.
Have contacted PlayStation support and ISP. Opened TCP Ports: 3478, 3479, 3480 and UDP ports: 3478, 3479 on my router.
Unfortunately, connection issues on consoles are very hard to troubleshoot. Blizzard supports the game and the functions inside it, but all connection troubleshooting is only by courtesy because they can’t control networks or ISPs.
I’ve played this game for years. This issue started around late June when the OW2 beta was released.
This doesn’t give me a solution. You mention the router security is apparently strict. I mentioned I opened the following ports on the router. What else would I have to do to fix this problem?
I can’t enjoy this game anymore as anytime I play quick play or comp; I run the risk of getting disconnected. I’ve already earned a season ban for season 35. I don’t want this happening again for the next season.
I’m a player like you, and I can’t offer you a direct solution.
There is a support doc for the error:
Unfortunately, this doesn’t mean much of anything. Your route to Blizzard vs routes to other games is not the same across the internet. For instance, the roads to the grocery store are probably different than those to the doctor.
I am based in New York and was able to obtain a windows device to launch WinMTR. I used the ip address of US Central servers. Do you believe this can be of any help with my issue?
I am unable to post pictures so I tried to copy and paste neatly to my best ability while making sure there are no links by adding “/” marks.
There does seem to be a bit of lag/high ping as the connection moves through Charter’s hops toward Chicago. Ping from NY to Chicago at 35ms is pretty good, but 80ms is showing for the worst ping value. This isn’t likely to cause a disconnect on its own, but something to keep in mind is that a WinMTR only sends 1 packet per second. Overwatch sends about 63 per second, so there can still be mild packet loss or disconnects that WinMTR simply can’t capture.
I’d be more willing to bet it’s a setting on the router or modem causing this, though. I recommend opening a ticket with tech support to see if they noticed other users on your ISP or in your area disconnecting too (they constantly gather this data).
I am having a very similar issue on my Xbox and it is a household wide issue as far as logging into overwatch as me and my younger brother cannot log in. I also cannot access games like R6, Minecraft, or Rocket League. However other games like Apex, Fortnite, and Rust are all working. It has been like this for over 3 months let me know if there’s much I can do.
While your issue may sound similar to the original poster’s issue, it’s unlikely to be exactly the same. If the problem is affecting multiple consoles or PCs on your home network, then that should point to the issue being with your router or internet provider.
Firstly I would make sure you’ve gone through the steps on this article here:
Other than those steps, I’d recommend getting in contact with your internet provider to see if they can look over the connection with you. They may try factory resetting your router/modem device, or if that doesn’t work perhaps they can replace the device with the newest model that they offer (if yours is a bit older). Hopefully they are able to work with you to get the disconnection issues resolved.
