Overwatch SEA Servers are Unreliable

I’ve been playing Overwatch on PC in the Philippines for the past two years now, and the latency of the matches used to be a reliable 30-50 ms. However, it’s been starting to reach 120-160 ms as of late even if there have been no changes in my setup nor in my internet provider’s status. Sometimes I would have matches that would stay at 140 ms, but other times I would arrive with 40ms and it would fluctuate to 150ms throughout the match.

It seems to be a problem for me with Overwatch only as my performance in other games like Valorant and Apex Legends are pretty consistent with what they’ve always been like.

Is there anything I can do about this? My friends have also been having issues with latency in Overwatch and it would be great to find a solution for this. Thanks!

It’s quite normal started ever since the merge of Overwatch’s servers (Due to the reduced total player numbers of overwatch they just started opening the multi-server matchmaking)

So whenever you get high ping it usually means you were been matched to a different server region other than Singapore.

For example Japan or Korea server would certainly give you much higher ping, or sometimes even West India or Saudi arabic, happened to me as well. I am also a SEA player.

The only solution for me was to use a VPN route my network directly to Singapore, this makes my matchmaking more reliable.
