Perhaps it will come back with OW 2, but it appears that LEGO has removed the listing for Overwatch in their themes. As an AFOL (adult fan of LEGO) and of course Overwatch, this was sad to see.
LEGO killed OW
(add it to the list)
Bummer to watch Overwatch fade from the cultural zeitgeist. Letting this game rot on the vine in order to hold back content for ow2 is one of the worst decisions blizzard has ever made
It better come back with OW2, I need more Lego tanks.
But did LEGO remove Overwatch from It’s site?
Nooooo
I’ve got the whole set too, from both waves! This guts me.
Lego also refuses to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the theme that saved them from bankruptcy. BIONICLE
The duality of man. Kiddy LEGO or edgy badass BIONICLE.
At least they are kind enough to let fans work on that unfinished BIONICLE game.
I so, so wanted minifigs for Mei and Sombra…
Can someone make a “things that killed OW” list?
Nonononono. We need a Torb skin with Lego turrets, “quick building guy from Lego commercials” hammer and the ult to shoot red Lego bricks.
I really hope it comes back, but sadly Lego has not been doing well. Kids today are not interested in toys. So they just market to adults nowadays.
I was really looking forward to a Lego Symmetra
Will do. It may take hours though. Might make it a tier list if I can be bothered.
Oh well. At least we got an amazing Bastion Lego skin from the promotional event.
…Shame that Bastion is absolute trash though so I can rarely appreciate the skin.
They didn’t want to encourage the creation of an OP hero who throws Legos on the ground.
Any skin of Bastion for that matter. I wanna be a transformer so bad, and all of his skins are pretty cool.

Oh, and that too - almost forgot. Actually more Sym than any of the others…
Already exists:, with plenty of serious and goofy submissions alike:
Agreed, though I think the cards were already being shuffled into the deck back when they decided to hard focus on OWL and try and turn it into an overnight sensation.
There’s really something to be said for letting things grow organically, at least to a point. They got in there too early, meddled and killed it in the cradle from what I can tell.
It was a long time coming.
They had sets out longer than the Junkertown & Wrecking Ball set and these recent sets retired much quicker than the older sets lol.
There were 6 sets due to be released in 2020, but they never came out… I was hella sad.
Anyway, the ones that have been removed were the retired ones, they were listed as retiring, then retired long before they were removed from the site completely. Wrecking Ball is still up, but it’s always sold out or listed as a backorder, I think it’s very popular, so perhaps they won’t retire that set any time soon.
I’m hoping, just hoping it has something to do with the pandemic… but seeing how all the new Super Mario lego is now out, I don’t know what to think…
Also, This is not the only thing that got cancelled that was OW related, Mattel Ultimate figures also… and many other things, did we ever get more hot wheels?
I mean I don’t think Lego is in a good place. More competion in builder blocks than ever and add to the fact the prices keep going up and up. A tiny set that might have like 30 pieces is some where from 5-10 dollars… The bigger stuff that might have 3-4k pieces can be 200 or 300 bucks.
The quality has gone down as well as they have more and more large chunks of plastic unique to each set that removes half the build with a custom piece… no longer are sets built from blocks you could do on your own.
Frankly Lego barely comes out with anything new any more not tied into a movie franchise, which is kind of sad. I was really bummed out when they removed the pretty much all the train sets from production.
