Ok, so, several updates ago, my PlayStation Gold wireless headset stopped working properly. I used to put all audio to the headset (chat and game), but that stopped working. Now, if I have all audio going to my headset, I hear NOTHING (other people can hear me talk though), but if I just put chat audio there, I can hear the chat (but since I’m wearing headphones I can’t hear the game sounds very well, and considering the number of audio cues in this game, that’s no good). I assumed my headset was just going bad (it has even recently randomly started dropping general connection at all), so I finally bought a set of the Platinum headphones. As I’m sure you’ll guess, no improvement/not fixed. Additionally, I have updated/reset both my headset AND my PS4 (still no fix).
Now, the other thing is, if I plug in my PS VR and run headphones though that, I can hear everything and the mic works. The only thing I have yet to try is installing Overwatch on my PS4 Pro (my other system) and seeing how audio works with that. I guess if it works the Pro I can change what system is where, but that still seems ridiculous that I have to go that far just to have all my audio.
Is this only happening with Overwatch? I would recommend installing Overwatch on your other system to see if the problem follows with that headset or not.
I don’t play any other major FPS to be able to answer that, BUT, I have now installed it on my PS4 Pro, and all audio is working properly with this setup.
Guys, do you think there will be a fix? I just bought the headset and I have to decide if I return it or not. I simply cannot hear the game sounds plus the chat. The chat volume is too low. The temporary solution is drop all volume levels to 40% leaving the chat in 100%, but that’s ridiculous. What a mess. I would never buy this product if I knew the support was so bad.
AlphaBootis, you have replied to a topic that is over 5 months old and is not likely not relevant to your specific issue. Furthermore, Blizzard does not specifically provide support to specific headsets, ESPECIALLY console headsets. At this point reach out to PlayStation support for this.
I’d just want to clarify if any further member gets here w/ same problem. There’s a “CHAT” button at the headset and if you press that repeatedly it will raise the chat volume and lower the game volume. It was so simple…
