Overwatch major expansion at blizzcon?

Hey guys i just read an article that was taking about rumors of a full expansion of overwatch to be presented at blizzcon! Do you guys think it is possible? It would be indeed very cool!

Sounds interesting.
Would be odd though, in my opinion. How would they manage to do it without alienating the playerbase?

I’d be interested in that. Tbh the game is just getting really stale, playing since launch. Here’s to hoping there’s big changes on the horizon, for OW and D3.

That would be amazing.

Imagine if they had singleplayer stories for each hero that detail an integral part of that hero’s life, like:
“Mccree’s story” - Something something Deadlock gang
“Widowmaker’s story” - Assassination of Gerard
etc. etc.

The biggest non OWL related thing to happen at Blizzcon will be the announcement of the newest hero to be added to the roaster.

And maybe teasers of a new map/game mode.

I doubt a campaign will happen. Hasn’t jeff said that it would be practically impossible to make single player levels because the engine isn’t written around it?

Why waste money on making another expansion/game when there’s OWL right there?

These “rumors” were spread through some Youtubers about 1 or 2 months ago. Not too sure. It was more about what the game needs to stay relevant with all that compettion on the market.
What we will get is a new hero a hint at a new map and perhaps few more crossover skins.
Gamescom was last month right: they said they´ll have some big anouncements to make. Guess what: the great announcement was the animated short (just like last year and the year before),a new map (just like last year and the year before) and don´t forget the making of the map which I asume 90% of the playerbase didn´t care in the slightest.

Expansion on what? Expansion implies there has to be something on the first place to be expanded on.

I don’t want a DLC. Well, unless it’s offline/singleplayer only then sure so I don’t have to buy it.
