I have never had any issues regarding loading/connection prior to the newest midseason patch. However now, every time I find a match, regardless if it’s in quickplay or comp, the game takes ages to load me into the match. More often than not, it takes so long to the point I get kicked for inactivity. This makes the game basically unplayable and I’m not really sure what changed with the newest patch. Has anyone had a similar experience or know of a way to fix this?
Hey i linked my post, a lot of us are having issues connecting after the update. Basically Blizzard has no support team to specifically handle Technical Issues and we are stuck until Blizzard finds the issue and addresses it. Not worth the ban so just don’t play i guess
Glad I’m not the only one. I’ve been dealing with this the last couple days and have been contemplating if my PC/internet is the issue or not. Hopefully they will fix it soon bc this is so brutal to try and play.
Answered this in another thread as well. This is getting annoying - I literally spawned as a defender 4 seconds before the match starts. This is a far cry from my usual performance.
Like the others have said, the entire UI and hero models themselves are taking so long to load as well. At one point, my FPS also tanked so much I reached 15fps (from avg 300+)
I asked my friends if they were experiencing the issue. Only my NVIDIA friends said yes. I use a 4070 Super. I already tried reinstalling in a different SSD and upgraded my drivers.
This has happened to me today 3 times in QP and once in Comp and I got a penalty. FIx this and undo my penalty. Get stuck loading into a game.
I’m with you all. Game is basically unplayable in this state.
Hero models don’t load during a match so you can’t figure out what’s going on with invisible chars. Maps themselves don’t load sometimes, resulting in being booted out of the match for inactivity.
This is getting ridicolous. This should get top priority in getting a fix out.
I agree. This is frustrating. I started to enjoy playing OW again but getting this issues and being penalized on things that you have no control of, it is infuriating. Its affecting my endorsement level and getting suspended for not even your fault. ugh.
For those having problems I resolved this after installing OW2 on steam rather than on Battlenet. You can connect your account to your steam account.
Im playing on steam and i had the same problem. I reinstalled the game, that kinda fixed it. but reinstalling the game is not a very efficient solution
Same issue. Also I noticed character models sometimes don’t load nad I see blue orbs.
chk your shader cache on your vid card. Up it to 5GB if able
I have the same issue since the last live maintanance/update.. i thought its just my game but seems like many people have this issue. I dont even know if we should contact Support or not and just wait for the next fix…
Chiming in to say me too, game’s installed to my NVMe and map loading went from seconds to nearly a minute (randomly, I should add)
Same issues since the updated. I started getting these terrible loading issues after the latest update. Some of the things happening:

in-game elements takes a long while to load; examples during matches are weapons and some HUD elements not showing, and teammates appearing as glowing dots instead of their characters

the most annoying of all is severe loading delays during the start of the game; I’m stuck at the map splash screen while the others are already in the character select screen, and staying stuck until the match kicks me out for inactivity
Is Blizzard going to address this? It’s at the point of being very annoying
